Default Electric suggestion for an Extra300, 64"

Hello,

Iím planning to convert my Extra 300 to electric. It was flying (some time ago) with an old 35cc with a prop around 18/8.

I have an habu, so Iím not that new to electric, but I will need something a way bigger for the Extra 300. Can you suggest me a setup for it (engine, battery and ESC), I just need a starting point to do me researchÖ

Thanks!

Auw? Gonna 3D?

Based on similar size ply and balsa planes I have, I'd be looking at a .46 or .60 500-600 KV motor with 80 -100 amp esc running 5S or 6S 4000 mah lipo.
What's the actual model? Mfg?

I like the Powerup brand from headsuprc

But lots of other choices including Hobby King.

Of course, you're Habu is an edf and you cannot compare the two.

Wish I knew more,

Hawk

Is the frame fairly light? Like one from 3DHS ?

Quite a bit of discussion on this over on RCG. Just google: 35cc RC
Motor to electric and you'll find threads on this very topic. You're not alone.

Looks like a 60 size electric motor. G60 Turnigy, Rimfire 60 from Tower, Powerup 60 from headsuprc, Hacker 60, etc.

The world is your oyster !

Welcome to WF and good luck,

Hawk

100 amp castlecreation ice esc. she flys unlimited vertical and lands fast do to being fairly heavy. it's a kit build and i built the battery compartment in the bottom feeding the batteries in through the bottom of the cowel. i have a video somewhere of me knocking off the landing gear on a bumpy landing. will see if i can find it. using a 15inch prop apc.
