Default Blistering FAST! Rarebear FPV

Went into a snow bank last fall. Vtx would randomly show white. So I put a new motor, cheap camera and vtx on my funfighter rarebear. I also put a power filter and attached a 470uF capacitor. My video now is CLEAR. I hadn't installed the capacitor in this video yet. This video is late evening with sun already below the horizon. This was only 3S - next video 4S.

Very cool. I have a RB albeit pretty crusty but from your video looks to be a good candidate for a fpv plane. Nicely done !

It's definitely fun to fly! Such an easy setup as compared to a quad copter. I just used this camera / tx combo for $26 from rctimer http://rctimer.com/product-1317.html

and put this filter $3.49 https://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_66_71&pr oducts_id=4083

and this capacitor soldered to the input on the filter as well $.79

This makes for clear and noise free video. I spliced right into the leads before the esc.

I get a full 5 minutes flight on a 5.25 x 6.25 APC Prop using Nanotech 1000mah 3S 45C-90 Lipos
I've also used an apc 6x4 .. . not as fast but lower amp draw.

I need a new RB! Banggood has them at a pretty good price. So, what gear do I need?

-camera tx/ combo
- filter
- capacitor
- antennna
- goggles

I was flying mine on 4S. As strong as she is, I put way too much g load on her. That little plane can easily exceed 100mph.

Has Fish tried this yet ?

Thanks Hawk

Nice video WO. Fast lil flyer the R Bear is.. pretty stable for fpv"ing.

narrow is the place to land...wide is the space to crash....choose the narrow way!

That should about cover it I'm using my Spektrum Dx8 with it and an AR400 with the antenna embedded on the underside fuselage. I have had great range so far . . . knock on wood.

I launch with goggles up and then make sure it's flying before pulling them down.

Flitetest recommends these Kylin Vision Goggles for budget price $99 (comes with antenna and battery) http://store.flitetest.com/kylin-vision-5-fpv-goggles/

I also have the Headplays but rarely use them as they are bigger. Version 2 is out now and are much improved over my set. They are $209. http://store.flitetest.com/headplay-se-fpv-headset-v2/
If you purchase these they could use an antenna upgrade with this Vas Mushroom Omni Antenna $24.95 https://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11_45_49_97 &products_id=1253

I use the Fatshark Dominator V2's most of the time.

I'm just running the stock linear antenna on the plane video transmitter (for less wind resistance) It works fine.

FPV planes let you relax quite a bit more than FPV Quads.

Fish has several Funfighter planes BUT hasn't set any up for fpv yet . . . he just goes for a ride using his goggles I've taken this Rarebear out in 40+mph winds for some wild rides.

Here is a good video by flitetest comparing these goggles

Thanks. My original maiden flight. This was with a stock 5.5x4.5 prop - no power filters (but I think the pulsing from esc eventually damaged the video transmitter). These cheap rctimer cameras really like the sunlight. Cloudy or low light conditions really degrade the video.
