Default What fixed my MSR TBE issue

Hey all. So I had been battleing bad TBE on my MSR for quite some time. Even put the thing in the closet for about a year I was so fed up with it. So recently I pulled it out and started tinkering again. Found some resources that mentioned the guide fingers on both the Main Hub and the antirocation colar. Sure enough mine were bent on the antirotation colar allowing too much play. So I bent them back into position and it got much better but didn't go away totally.

Well i went to my LHS and got some replacement parts. This time the aluminum ones and got an upgraded fly bar. Problem was, not the linkage was binding too much, and the TBE was even worse. Now instead of small circles I was getting Large circles. I think it had some to do with the aluminum antirotation colar not lining up so well with the stock parts. That or a slightly twisted main shaft. Any way i ended up snapping off the trailing fingers on the main hub sense they are supposed to move the most, allowing the tighter antirotation colar fingers to stay tight. And walla, TBE is completely gone. My MSR has never flown better.

Anyway thought this might help someone else, or even just be a decent read. Wonder if the fingers on the main hub are even needed. I guess with the MSR X out, it doesn't really even matter much anymore.

Good flying folks.
