Default New!!! Eflite Blade SR RTF

Eflite Blade SR

Eflite has just released a new collective pitch heli, very similar to the blade cp versions.

This one has a DD tail motor, which is a shame as i wished they'd release a belt driven helicopter.

Looks like the MSR but with a bigger frame and metal parts, but they have literally the same canopy.

Actually, to me it looks like a "dumbed down" Blade 400

It looks interesting. I wonder if anyone has tested it out yet?

Talking to John Redman from Horizon yesterday at the AVTI Club meeting, he hadn't seen one yet.

hum, about time they come out with a small brushless heli but why did this not be in place of the blade cp 2 i mean everyone had the cp one converted them to brushless I was disapointed to see the 2 non brushless. at least they got this one ... $200.00 RTF not bad. funn that the CP2 is 250. maybe it come down now.

I'm suspicious that there isn't a video of one flying yet. Man if it was good I'd be bragging!

I am wondering if I should wait for this to come out and give it a try, or maybe I should try the Blade 400. I am looking to get a 500-600mm size Heli eventually but I want something a little smaller as well for the time being.

So essentially it's a single rotor CP heli that behaves more like a coaxial due to the programming of the transmitter.

That's kind of cool, I actually might consider that now as an step before buying a blade 400, and something to learn on while I gather parts to build a 500 size heli.

I saw the video and I'm sold. like the way the pilot jogged the sticks and it didn't zoom off into his shins. Mine is on "D" way!

That's what sold me too. I hope they speed up the ship date.

From what I have heard, they wont be, as they are marketing this as a beginner heli, and the thing that makes it for beginners is the pre-programmed TX. They say after you get accustomed to controlling it with the dumbed down TX, bind it to a DX6i or DX7 to then continue learning more advanced controls.

Who knows though, if it appears to be a better heli then the CP series, then maybe it will slowly replace it and be available in a BNF version as well.

It would be great to see a direct comparison to the CP+ with brushless upgrade. Guess I'll wait until I can see them both side by side at my LHS before deciding. They BOTH look SWEET!!

I wonder if the radio can be used to fly a airplane? or is there no switches to change or nothing ont he radio... might be worth it to get the heli and radio and then give radio to someone who can use it with BNF planes and other helis like the mcx and cx2 and new 4 site?

been following this on rcgroups and im totally getting one as soo as i have the money when it comes out. I just kind of got into helis with the MSR less than two weeks ago and having pretty well masterd it already i can wait for this to come out. It seems to be the perfect next step. OOOOOOOH i cant wait! Mid february is too far off!!

.
Unless there's switches that can disable the CCPM feature, it would be marginally useful in a powered airplane.
A glider would use it OK, I've flown my CP radio in gliders.
CCPM mixes the throttle with elevator and aileron, which would be "interesting" in an airplane.

I'm fairly sure it's like the HPDSM6 which has switches to disable CCPM, reverse aileron/elevator/rudder, V-tail etc.

The only difference is that it's got pre-programmed curves on the CCPM to make the SR more docile.

Didn't think about that would be interesting. never tryed using my Cp radio in anything else read some did however.

Well if thats tru then it be good for planes but wonder if infact could be used for a MCX or CX she wants one of either but no extra radios for her to use since 2.4

http://h1073477.hobbyshopnow.com/Pro...350-Manual.pdf

Page 12 outlines what each of the switches on the front of HP6DSM does and since the SR transmitter is just a programming variation on the HP6DSM then it'll have the same.

There are novice videos out now and the SR looks like it delivers as advertised. Hoping mine will show up at my door tomorrow.
