Default 47" Extreme Flight Yak 54e - LPU - MA - Rx Ready

Up for sale is my 47" Extreme Flight Yak 54e. Package includes :

Airframe in red/white/blue
Scorpion 3020-14
13x6.5 APC prop
Extreme Flight 55" black spinner

CC Phoenix 45 (bought from RCG) + external BEC
SP 50A + Turnigy BEC

(4) HS-65 HB + servo extensions

Add your rx and battery and fly!

Only had a few flights on this plane, with one hard landing that bent the aluminum gear a bit. I have fixed the gear and repainted it - looks just fine.

$300 with the Phoenix, $275 with the Simple (flown both and they work fine - actually the SP from lightflightrc starts up the Scorpion more smoothly )

I'll try local pick up in MA first, and consider +shipping (in a BIG box) later.

Default RE: 47" Extreme Flight Yak 54e - LPU - MA - Rx Ready

A couple questions.

I am a new flier, and looking for an aerobatic capable plane that will be (barely) acceptable to learn on. (I realize that's ambitious of me, I was going to go straight to heli but decided to take the 'easier' learning curve first, so that's already a concession, I'll take it slow and use a sim plenty!) This looks like a very nimble plane with large control surfaces, is that accurate? Will it be controllable for a newer pilot? I am trying to get the most plane for my money, and want to leave budget room for a Dx6i (prly used too!) for good quality, scalable electronics, this fits my budget perfectly.
Does this seem to you like it would be a reasonable stretch for me? Also, if so, do you mind telling why you're selling?

Thanks very much!

(BTW, I am located in Virginia Beach, VA)

Hi Jeremy,

As much as I want to sell this plane , it's not the one for you. You don't mention if you've flown any planes before, but this is definitely a 3rd or 4th plane for someone. It's quick and pretty powerful. Read: You can get into trouble very quickly.

You should be looking at a Mountain Models Magpie, GWS E-starter, or GWS Slow Stick (or similar). No, they're not as sexy looking, but in the end it will save you a ton of frustration and money.

I'm selling it because I need to fund another plane I have purchased. I did like how the Yak flew, but I need something a little more tame (and I've been flying for about 4 years now).
