Question Yak 55 question & lipo charger question

Hi all,
2 part question here... the Yak question first....

1) I currently own a Eflite Funtana 300 ... it is my first plane... I've only flown it 1 season and only had maybe 15 or so flights on it. I really like it, especially because I like 3D flying and that's what I want to learn how to do really well. Despite my limited experience on a real plane I can fly it pretty well, do some nice turns, spins, loops, roll-overs... nothing too amazing but pretty decent flying for a newbie (I try to practice on RealFlight).

My friend shadowed me last summer, more or less to do a hand-off if I got into trouble and to help me get it down in 1 piece , but unfortunately he is a busy guy and our schedules never match-up well as far as getting out frequently.... and I'm a bit hesitant to go solo cause I broke my first Funtana 300 on flight 1 (glue repair), broke it 7 flights later (glue repaired) and then totalled it when my battery ejected... bought a new one a started at it again. So I fear too many crashes going solo.

So I was considering buying a 2nd plane that was 3D capable, yet hopefully of stronger contrustion. I know everything is breakable... but something that'd take a bit more abuse when landing would be great... that way I could head out solo with less fear of totalling it and hone my skills, especially at the beginning of the year. What would you guys suggest for that???

I was thinking maybe ....
a) Great Planes YAK 55 3D Park Flyer EP ARF 33.5"
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJCC2&P=7
b) Great Planes YAK 55 3D FlightFlex EP ARF 34.5"
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKVY7&P=7
c) building another really cheap foam flatout type plane
d) other suggestions?

Any opinion on this??? Is the Yak 55 3D of fairly strong construction? Capable of a bit more abuse? I know the flightflex one is durable foam but it looks a tad hoaky in that it might not fly responsively due to being too flexible. Thought? Other electric plane suggestions?

(I own a Futaba 6ex so I can buy another Rx to go in the new plane)

2) I need a good (not too expensive if possible) lipo charger that will plug into a wall outlet and will charge batteries (Thunder Power or other brands) that only have those little red JST connectors... no other plug out of the battery to charge from.... just the 1 red JST to charge and plug-in to fly with. Can anyone suggest a lipo charger that has that capability? (if it has a 12v car option too + in wall in the house I'd buy a more expensive charger)

Thanks for all replies in advance.

My Yak isn't as durable as I thought it would be! I repaired it near every time I had a BooBoo, Most EPP planes hold up better that mine has, I still like it but fly it like it's balsa as it's not durable as a EPP should be, bub, steve

I don't perticularly Like the Great planes Yak's... the tail surfaces on them just seem sloppy and loose... I've owned one and so I can tell you... it isn't very repairable...

I'd recommend you try a 3d foamy like the DW Gen-X. Depron is repaired very quickly with some foam safe CA (glue) most crashes can be repaired in minutes... http://www.rcfoam.com/cart.php?targe...ategory_id=102

and If you buy some sheets of depron, you'll be able to use thr original as templates and cut out more for like $10....

Sorry, Guess I musta forgot...

30amp Turnigy Esc $18, you could prob go with a Turnigy 18amp, but I think the plane won't mind the little extra weight, plus it'll help balance out your battery.... and your more likely to reuse the esc in some other stuff....
