Hi Bruce I am going to be making a foam biplane like that one, with a 6ft wing span, it will have swept back wings on top and bottom like the ultimate, but it will have a longer Fuselage than the Eagle or Ultimate biplane, wish me luck Chellie

You can do it Chellie. I think my next one will be a PT-19 and like you I design it in my head first. I have the wing designed and am working out how I want the fuse. Sorry it won't be pink in color though.

6 feet. That's a LOT of foam.
Like to see this build.

On the pink planes, there's a pink GWS transmitter that would go with them real well.

Yes, it's a Miss, and no, I didn't mean you specifically (unless you do like pink, of course. Nothing wrong with that).

However, it is not mine. That one will be a transparent violet or purple. I found out that UltraCote offers both now. I found this bird on a information gathering search I was doing on the Miss Stik, it was put up by the owner's husband, I think.

Which reminds me I need to ask about the difference between the two colors. Which one is darker, mostly.

yes it going to take a lot of Foam OK , the hardest part will be to make sure the wings does not flex, as it will have a flat 9mm wing, being a biwing will help alot, and using 8.5mm carbon fiber square tube will help too, I am also going to use 3/8" formed balsa on the leading edge to help to make the wing more ridged, and 3/8" balsa or basswood on the trailing edge, the wing will be squared off, with a wood frame, and the round foam part of the wing tip will be epoxied on, i belive the wood frame and the cf tube and the wings being tied together will make it strong and minimize wing flexing, in the middle of the wing, i will use a flat thin plywood 1/8" x 4" wide on top and bottom to hold the wing in the middle, the fuselage will be 6mm depron build up, the nose and front of the plane will have plywood inside the foam for strength and to mount the landing gear too, I think i have most of the bugs worked out I have Researched a lot of Foam builds to incorporate technics found on other builds to be used in my 6ft w/s plane, wish me luck, Chellie

I believe Violet is the darker of the two on the color spectrum. The next "darker" to violet is ultraviolet.

Thanks, but I was referring to the UltraCote colors, silly

Violet - Purple

All the online sources show them rolled up, which is the worstest possible way to display a transparent covering IMO. From what I do see the purple "looks" a little closer to what I'm going for, a "Wizard's Purple".
(Miss Stik = Mystic, get it?) Think "Albus Dumbledore" from Harry Potter.

I would really like to see what they look like with light shining through them. I have seen the violet on another thread, but not the purple.

LOL I was being serious....but I AM a jester, after all.....

And I like the way you think about it. Albus would be proud. Snape would sulk, but who cares......and as for He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, well......

Chellie, I can't tell for sure, is that a Skybolt or a Sportster Bipe? It is a pretty plane but I think it would be better if the color pattern was reversed. I'll also be looking for your built thread.

You want how much pink?

The Sweet'n'Low-ish Stik started out as a BARF StiKlone from China's "RC Ploduct Industlie" and flew c#@& - so I made a few alterations to it Covering's Monokote, the logo was upscaled from wifey's fave coffee/tea sweetener with a scanner, DesignCAD, some imagination and a large class of wine...

"Bubbles" was my first tailless design. The wing came out of my 'Li'l Special' design, it lost its original job in a pylon race when some idiot had a hard time with the concept of 'straight and level', sawing her tailplane off. The wing was the sole survivor and found a new job in this design. Three of this design were built in total by me, though other variants appeared, including an 81" twin! RCM still sell the US plan, BTW...

If all pink rocks the soul overly, Solarfilm's 'Heather' (pink, in marketingspeak!) and whatever they call purple go very well, and MoneyKote's versions also fit well together.

Though 'Cow-Moo-Flage' in P & P is a little hard on the eyes at times

But always remember that, when following the herd, the view never changes

Regards

Dereck
