hey, quick question... My Slegehammer went 113 (doppler) on a 4 turn mega and 4S... 500ish watts.

So, what SHOULD it do on 6S and 1250 watts?? What would you smart guys estimate the speed at?

Laine.

lol, in another lifetime! Geesh, could you imagine 150 with that beast!

At 80-90 it still looks slow though. Once I get home, and finish dialing it in, I'll push it and see what it will do in level flight.

Just gotta convince someone to stand in front of it with a radar gun! lol

LOL!!! NOOOOO! Not that picture again!!! That plane was sooooo cool! Called a Mawler from AWL hobbies! Stuck it right in the ground at Hodges too. Lucky I missed the family sitting there under the shelter! Scared the crap out of them though.

Never do a maiden of a FAST plane in an area with that many people!!!

At least that photo won me the "crash contest" on RCG!

I'll never live that one down.

Not as long as I have that picture in my arsenal.....

BTW, you really can't appreciate that picture until you try to pound a tent stake in the ground at Hodges... It is HARD

Yeah, I'll be 65 years old, and someone will walk up to me while Im flyin one day and say "hey, aint you that fella that stuck the balsa plane in the ground at Hodges?"

lol, couldnt believe it stuck like that. AND that the damage to the plane was quite minimal! The thing hit at over 80mph!

I was able to get 116-118 as my fastest doppler pass with my modded stryker. Using a mega 16/25/2 motor, 3s 2100 mAH batt, 7x6 APC-E prop.

Here is one of the the doppler curves, I ripped the audio out and used my own app I wrote to do the doppler speed and RPM analysis.

http://www.hyperdynelabs.com/RC/spect1.jpg

There are a couple .wav files there also that have different passes on different batts.

Oh yeah, Paris is right down the road. I live in Indian Mound acctually. I go fly at Houston County airport on occasion. Otherwise known as McKinnon.

Although, Im in Afghanistan right now, when I do get home maybe we can get together and fly. I'll let you try one of my 120mph + flying wings!

Nothing special to report on the UH motor. I got similiar speeds, but hit the A draw made me hit LVC on my pack. I will be sticking with the Wicked motor.

On a related note. What goes 117mph to 0 in the blink of an eye?

<------- This guy's Lynx. While I can tell you want I think happened, I really have no clue. It all happened so fast. I was trying to avoid a heli, then Boom. Pics and video later/tomorrow.

LOL The whole crowd moaned on that one! I did not see it but I knew exactly when it happened. I was in the shop and heard a loud OOHHHHHH! Then a lot of cheering and laughing! Followed by LT holding a bunch of foam scraps!

Laine I wish you could have been there! He got a few good flights in before he tried to bury it! I mean Mac's field is soft to land on but it is still more dense than Styrofoam! The battery was at least 75' from where the plane hit! LOL
