With this motor and the 14x6 prop what would you recommend for a battery knowing we will use a 3s. Can you also discuss what C value would be the best for the set up?

C value has become so high for modern packs that you don't really need to care. High C essentially means low internal resistance and thus ability to deliver more current with less heat. The difference in performance is important to contest flying or seeking to set records but 20C will serve almost any sport flying purpose just fine if you size the pack for 8 min (full power) or greater per charge.
Not so long ago 8C rated packs were the norm and 20C was the ultimate high current battery. Then, C was a significant consideration for all models because it was easy to be limited by the battery C rating.

I'd aim in the appx 3000 mah ballpark for the Bird of Time... partially to get the useful battery weight since you are replacing lead used in the pure sailplane and probably need the weight anyway.
If you can get the battery right so you need zero useless lead weight to achieve correct CG that would be perfect.

Geez - been so long since I posted on WF I had to really work hard to remember my password

In any case, just picked up a Bot ARF and a GliderDrive 840KV from a gent on "that other forum". Will probably do the "draw the motor bulkhead forward" mod from this thread, some good reading here (slow day at LAX)

Might be a bit before I start - need to finish the Mystique first.
