Found out why she flicked to right .......... too much power on launch ... she's basically not flying and motor right thrust hauled her of to side ... she did it today but I caught it in time. Next launch - I gave 1/2 throttle and she went dead straight out of hand.
I won't remove the thrust because once flying she's spot on ... I just have to remember to be careful on launch !!

hey there Nigel,
Of all the flights I had this weekend and a few wrecks to boot.....I took the hummer with me today and of all the flights on fpv quads, superfly delta wing.
the hummer was the most fun. She just floats around and really gets good flight time on a small 1000mah 30c 3cell. the motor/esc you suggested is perfect and I just wanted to say thanks for sharing my friend!! Inverted flight on the hummer is easy as flying upright.
I still have to download a few vids of quads and the hummer flying. To funny is the HK PKJ went with me today ,but I couldn't get a good hand toss and broke the nose off again after several trys...
. to funny to bother posting the vids of that.

No problem Stu.
Glad she's flying well. Mind's still clinging onto life despite the 'unexpected landings and events' .....
I keep wondering whether to ressurect my older one. Rip out the gobs of hot glue and make her straight again. Even thought of altering the colour scheme on her ....

Kuldiga Town Festival and our club does a Show ....
In the later part of the show we have the Limbo ... an all together fun event where we have about 20 models all milling around and trying to get under the tape (height about 3m and about 3m wide).
Well - yours truly just narrowly misses in first attempt, heights ok but just outside gate ... so I carry on downwind to execute a turn and approach into wind. Well that was the plan.
Another guy seemed to have same idea but unfortunately his prop chewed up my back end and it was all over for me !!

The crash also put paid to my motor area ...

The motor area was easy enough to sort back at home ...
The tail area though as we all know - when EPP rips or get chewed up - its awful stuff to try and sort especially to hinge. I tried using the old tail from my first Hummer but it was not so good idea. In the end I cut new from 6mm Depron and fitted my own tail with CF rods instead of the ply strip original used.
Here's the bits removed ...

Here's the new ready to hinge ..

Here it is RTG ..

Yes I know the graphics is a bit sloppy - but in the air at least she should look the part.
I did consider a new rudder but in the end put the old back - avoiding the cosmetics job of that !!
Result ? Not flown yet - but is stiffer than the old, so I expect a good result.

You're probably right. I did consider it - but I'm still getting to grips with orientation of a wing.
Flew the Hummer with the new tail - WOW ! Elevator response is so crisp now. I reckon the old EPP ones were flexing judging by the difference.

Orientation can be tricky when there is 4 or 5 of you belting around the sky with them.
Twice I have started flying someone elses and found mine on the ground.
Once I realise mine is missing I just cut the motor and it lands itself. Then I go look for it. LOL Never any damage.

A general question to those flying Hummers...
What is the AUW of your Hummer, ready to launch?
Nigel, you told me that yours was 635 grams...
But in light of the fact 'Red Eagle' (the manufacturer) claims 450-500 grams as the AUW for this model; I ask to fact-check this specification.

C'mon ... how many models actually meet the factory spec ?
My first setup was much lighter ... but flight was definitely not up to expectations. Light weight did not transform into performance unless you just wanted to do basic aerobatics.
