Also flying right next to a road. The pilots skills are beyond belief. But, if something breaks and that heli hits a car passing by, that would be on the nightly news

Without a doubt. A bit like Russian roulette though. I don't know who is the more stupid, the pilot or camera man. Terrifying.

Last year or two ago, a heli pilot was killed by his own model doing this sort of thing.

Yuck, I just googled about the deceased pilot and saw an actual picture of him. Not a pleasant sight, and a very good reminder that our "toys" still can be very dangerous. If I ever find myself somewhere that a 3D heli is operating I'll be sure to leave.

Having read about the result, I have absolutely zero interest in looking up that picture. Because of an incident a few years ago at our club field, helicopters and/or rotor craft are not allowed at our field per our club bylaws.

I bought a couple (many if you include parts) Trex 450s. One day a took a large notch out of my neighbors cedar fence with it. That was the day I stopped flying helicopters.
When people fly them at the field I insure that I am close to a table to dive behind. I will not have a plane in the air when one of those is spun up. I keep eyes on them at all times.

I wasn't looking for that picture as those kinds of images bother me forever, I was merely trying to read articles on what happened so I could add it to my "do not try" list and I accidentally happened upon it. And by reading about the unfortunate incident, I know that not only will I never own a large heli, I will never be around one while it's operating.

A few weeks ago, I was looking up my Peak Models giant Edge model, purchased and delivered. While searching for "Peak Models" I accidentally got into a XXXX rated porn site. Those sites are often associated with a lot of computer malware and and computer virus's.

I was at a large local fun fly two years ago, where they were flying very high powered electric and gas Helicopters in a separate area, doing all sorts of acrobatics. The pilots were flying them as close as a few dozen feet from themselves behind a simple rope barrier. And, ten feet on the other side of that rope barrier were a dozen small kids.

While I do indeed respect their skill, they terrify the ever loving snot out of me up that close!

I got one of the helis from that guys field. It's my favorite one so far.

When he died, the folks went much smaller, so their 700s ended up sold off and I got a couple of em. The Mostro is my favorite!

Also, no way I'd fly like that, where he did, even with a 300 size.

Here is the maiden... In my back yard and my daughter was behind the car, even so the power is pretty evident.
