A buddy's wife called me sellonoid (solenoid) because I was an electrician and my last name was sellon.

Mine started as my handle when I joined Warbirds back in the mid 90's. All the cool call signs where of course taken. I was reading the W.E.B. Griffin "The Corps" series of books at the time and a main character who was a pilot name was Pick Pickering. It kind of morphed from there to pickle because the weapons switch was called the pickle, or dropping ordinance was known as pickling and of course I was always in a pickle. Every screen name since from Warbirds, Targetware, Americas Army, Quake and about a dozen other online games and forums I have been some form of Pickle. To my dismay Pickle was taken here so I added 72, my birth year.

Cool thread BTW

There was The Great Guildersleeve. And the Jack Benny show where he asked his sidekick not to open the closet door. I can't remember the sidekicks name.

Dragnet was on also. Joe Friday.

Who was Mortimer Snerd? I remember the name not the show.

I remember listening to a Jack Benny episode, where he talked about being hit with a spear, and it couldn't be removed, so every time he was at a party, people would mistake him for an hors d'ouvre......
