I lol'd when it happened. After a few choice words of course.

Minus the blades it was $70. And since everything is packed in pairs it was really $35 and I have extras.

Blades are subjective because you can use $20 china or $80 italian.

Maybe not 25 deg....but these shafts are no joke....pretty good bend.

Yah thats not too bad of a bend right there lol. What else cost 70 bucks? How much are 500 main shafts as opposed to 8 to 9 dollar a pack 450 shafts?

A set of mainshafts is $10.99.

But looking at the pic...quite a few things other than a shaft needed to be replaced

Wow lol, now thats a crash. I almost had one last night, i was such in a rush to fly my heli with the last 20 minutes of sunlight left i forgot to attach 2 outta 3 of my ball links to my swash plate from the servos lol. Only the elevator was attached, I guess the spinning of the blades leveled it out cause it lifted in the air about 7 feet, suddently had a surge of power i dont know, then sparks flews and my battery came falling to the ground seperate, but at the same time my heli came down lol. Something struck my balancer cord from my battery and the wires touched causing alot of sparks. I checked it over and my autorotation and main gear are rubbing , my swashplat was only 1/3 on and my batteries cables were stripped and open.

So i got mad thinking i fried my 95$ battery, Flight Power EVO 25C 2500 MAH and hucked it on the ground, it sparked again. Then i was like , well maybe it's ok, so i put electrical tape on the ends and tried charging it. It seemed ok and charged like i think it should have. I checked today and no puffing yet, but i don't have a cord to balance it anymore. Can i buy one someehwere u guys know?

Laughing off our crashes and moving on is part of the hobby but I see a few life-threatening situations in that story. I would be pretty freaked out.

"GunnyGlow" told me this and I live by it - he found a broken linkage on his trex-600 in the pre-flight check - I had just watched him fly it earlier that day and nothing was wrong and it was a perfect landing.

Your heli exploded at 7 feet of altitude were you wearing a helmet?

You gotta make sure you check over your whole heli before every flight. Make sure all the wires are tied down with zip ties and away from moving parts. Since you are using tri-flow before each flight, while you do that, check the ball links from the servos up to the head, always in the same order - tail too. Wiggle things around and check for any odd play, binding, or rubbing in the head or swash plate and make sure the flybar and blades move smoothly. Use the velcro strap on the battery so it can't separate from the helicopter and its wires can not reach any moving parts (wires down and front). Use the throttle hold switch, by habit, when plugging in. Check to be sure the gyro initialized correctly and spool it up slowly. Watch for any odd vibrations and listen for any changes in the sound - if you notice anything just cut it and don't fly till you figure out what it is.

You can get new balancing plugs - you should take the battery to Colpar and see if they can help you. It might not be safe to use.

Yah that experience made me realize i really need to be more careful and i was quite angry at myself for doing it. Helis are jsut so fun to fly though and with the sun goin down quicker now as winter approaches, so does my flighttime.

I was looking for an electric larger than a 325 size machine. I didn't feel like spending what it takes for a Mikado, or an Ion X, etc. decided I could do a lot better than align at a 600. I had a nitro Pantera 50 and I liked the heli a lot, so I tossed in a motor. Conversion went really well and while the photos show some massive 6Ah batteries, I can get over 10 minutes on them. With some smaller 5Ah cells, it ended up the same weight at the nitro machine with fuel.

Raptor E 550 with TT and Quick UK upgrades.

Spent so much on it, I'm afraid to do anything except Hover and slow circuits!! (But it looks nice)

Sweet 550! Did you get the red metal parts that way or color them somehow?

My Blade 400 is now "monochrome" so I'd love it if I could find some black or white metal parts... but they are only in blue... unless I want off-brand parts.

The CNC parts come that way from Quick UK. They have up-grades in a few different colours for most popular Helis, so you could probably get what you wanted from them.

You can get the grey/black cnc parts from Align.

Build Review E-flite Blade 400

My Blade 400 with a Venom Noze canopy. Yes, a TREX 450 canopy fits the Blade 400; it's a little tighter in width but it works. The Noze canopies come without holes or grommets and come in blue, orange, & green; you can get them on eBay, Tower Hobbies, or direct from Venom. I also went with the E-flite blue tail to match the canopy.

There's the little mCx here as well. It needs a new flybar.

I added brite yellow trim sheet strips to the tail boom to aid visibility.

Here's how to make the mCx faster, which is why I need a new flybar. It starts getting hard to turn when it get going real fast or the battery is getting low especially in left turns.
