Default slow v rebuild

Hey gang, I'm replacing the stock motor and esc on my slow v with a towerpro motor/esc package. I can't seem to figure out how to make the mount that came with this motor work out, has anyone replaced the motor on their slow v and what mount did you use?

Thanks

Yup, I did exactly the same to my plane. You need to use the supplied stick mount, cut it down, and shim it with some balsa or thin ply to fit the Slo-V's smaller 8mm stick. I would recommend drilling through the side of the mount and into the fuse, then installing either a small screw or nut & bolt to secure it.

With more than double the stock power, the TP2410 really makes the Slo-V enjoyable to fly... it's addictive!

Just be forewarned:

1) The Slo-V has a very draggy fuse. This was at least part of the cause of rear bearing failures I experienced on the TP2410. I went through 3 sets of rear bearings in a year. You can find replacements here:

2) Use a prop saver. The TP2410 shaft is easily bent.

3) Keep an eye on the fuse. I started to experience cracking of the CF. This could be due to stresses from motor torque, crashes, etc. Eventually I had to retire the plane because of it.

You can make the slow vee into a GREAT PLANE with a arrow shaft and some chuck-Glider wing's out of the stock set-up you'll have left-over SlowVee, bubsteve, PS there's a thread i did years ago on it, I'll look for it if you'd like,

I actually miss my Slo-V... she was fun to fly once I reworked her. The only thing left was the fuse:

- Motor: TP 2410-09Y motor, 20A Power Up ESC, and prop saver from HeadsUpRC
- Prop: Parkzone 11x4.7
- 1250 mAh 3S Lipo
- Spektrum AR500 RX
- 2x SG90 servos
- KFM3 42" wing
- 3mm depron tail feathers reinforced with bamboo skewers.
- LG: E-Flite 2.5" wheels, stock PZ tail skid
- AUW: 17oz

There is a good 'How-To' on using the stick mount here:

Kargo, check your PM

I have some spare parts for the Slo-V including my modified motor mount if you want them.
