Default V tail setup

Hey gang,

Trying to change out the stock equipment on my slow v. Since I'm changing the reciever out I need to set up a v tail mix on my radio. My question is which direction should the control surfaces move? You'd think I'd have checked this out with the stock equipment in it first huh

My radio is a Futabe 6EX, programing seems straight forward so once I figure out which direction things ought to go it should work great.

Thanks

Control surface movements are described on Pg 6 of the Slo-V manual if you still have it:

Here is the specific page:

Since the Slo-V is a 3 channel plane, you are actually looking for elevon or delta wing mixing. This keeps the primary flight controls on the right stick... aileron and elevator.

V-tail mixing on the other hand uses elevator and rudder. Much harder to fly IMHO.

As philipa says-don't use V-tail, use elevon or delta-which ever the Futaba offers.
That drove me crazy for hours trying to set it up.
V-tail setting is for like a sailplane with a V-tail and ailerons.

Yeah, it's tricky to setup the V-tail. If you don't get the desired tail movement, try the following:

1) Swap the servo wires/channels

2) Use the servo reversing feature of your radio to change direction of the offending servo.

Thanks gang, that helps a lot. Geez the manual sure was an obvious place to look thanks for pointing it out, and the pointers. Soon as I deal with the mounting issues of my towerpro motor I'll be able to give it a try...

RTFM - Read the friendly manual. Always worth a try.

I posted in your other thread about motor mounting. It's really quite simple.

Good luck!
