Default Seniorita EP real or fake

Hi All
I have been away for awhile but want to get back into
flying.
My question is nitroplanes has a Seniorita for $79.00
and Sig has the same thing for $200.00 on their website.
Is this for real or a cheap nockoff I wonder if anybody
can answer this. Link below

http://www.nitroplanes.com/90a268.html

thanks Ceannt

You just have to look around a little. Mostly you don't buy directly from SIG...

Hi Jasmine2501,

Your link is to the Seniorita kit. Nitroplanes is selling the Kadet Seniorita ARF.

To answer the OP's question, it is for real. I couldn't resist and picked one up for my kid. The SIG name has been removed from the box, decal sheet and from the assembly manual.

Here are some links to ongoing threads about this plane from Nitroplanes:

Pretty much has to be a clone then. Some are pretty high quality. Look at the HK helicopters... medium quality clones of Trex.

I don't think it's a clone. The name SIG has been spray painted over on the box but it is still visible. White tape has been placed over every reference to SIG in the manual. When it's held up to the light, SIG can be clearly seen through the white tape. These ARF's are definitely coming from the factory that makes the ARF for SIG. The SIG logo decal has even been cut out and removed from the decal sheet. A lot of effort is going into covering up the fact that these are SIG Senioritas

Anthony

Thanks The photo is a little old but I haven't changed much.

Sure seems strange that they would just cover up the labels. Very odd.

All American is right. I bought one also. Sig has been whited out on the box and the owners manual. The story I heard goes like this, Sigs represenative that dealt with the Chinese factory died. The Chinese had built a few hundred of these kits for Sig. New negotiations with the Chinese factory by Sig failed, so the Chinese decided to unload the kits on their own. I had to retire on disability so I'm living on a fixed income and always looking for bargains. I snatched one up. The workmanship and the covering is first class. This plane could be the bargain of the century. Dont be afraid to purchase one. You wont be dissapointed.

The Nitro Planes "Seniorita" is the real deal. I ordered one and the workmanship is impeccable. Originally made for Sig and then I assume something happened contract-wise. This Senirita is magnificent for the $$ and as someone already said, you couldn't build something like this for the cost. It is the steal and deal of the decade!

If I had the money I would buy another one while NitroPlanes still have them. That is a whole lot of airplane for that price!

They are the real deal. I bought two of them, and they are first rate. You might call Nitroplanes for info concerning if and when they are expecting more to arrive. I hope that more will come in.

I bought on also. They are the real deal. Everywhere the name SIG is, has been removed or painted over through the entire box. This is the nicest built plane I ever bought and for $108 shipped to my door was too good to passs up. I will be putting a Monster Power .32 brusless motor from Hobbypartz.com in mine when I get around to it.

I was just noticing that all of SIG's ARFs are out of stock everywhere (including their own site), and that Tower Hobbies no longer lists SIG as a manufacturer they sell. Is SIG still around or did they go by-by? I'm actually having trouble finding online retailers that sell sig, and those I do find are out of stock on everything.

I would love to pickup one of these Senioritas. I've always loved it, but I didn't realize they ever made an EP ARF version. Now that I find it, it appears to be gone.

I've seen some of their kits listed but I'm like you, havent seen any ARF's. I saw a thread on another forum saying Sig's represenative that dealt with the Chineese manufactuers passed away and negotiations with the Chineese ceased. Supposedly thats how we got these Senioritas at a large discount.

I hope that doesn't apply to the Rascal 110, although that is my fear now.

Default My new Nitro / Sig Senorita!

What a delightful Saturday morning at Moon Port Modelers RC Club. Just a few showed up and Rodney was kind enough to Video Record my adventures with my new Senorita from NitroPlanes.

This model was bought from a new new RC Modeler named David from Brooksville, Florida and who sold it to me READY-TO-FLY and it is flawless. The Futaba 4-Channel (72-Mhz FM) non-computer Radio operated and controlled my Senorita Glitched FREE!

When I landed after perhaps 6 minutes tooling around the large Turnigy 3-Cell, 5000mAH battery still measured 11.98 Volts!

In the following Videos, you will see a conservative manner style flying but, off camera I was able (Rodney egged me on) to command the model to do some rolls and loops. If you kick in some rudder the rolls are very axial and clean and the loops are something majestic.

It is a very nice FLOATER and very relaxing model.

Thank you Rodney for recording the Video and thank you David for selling it to me.

Here are the Videos:

I have one and love it using a monster 25 motor with a 12x4 prop and a 4c 4000mah battery. I get 2 9 min. flights with this setup and I outfitted this with LEDs for night flying. I bought mine on ebay well the wife got it for me for X-MAS. Hunt around they are out there.

Default Friday (05-06-2011) early morning @ Moon Port Modelers

Friday, (May 6th, 2011)

It was just great early this morning as I arrived right at 0703 hours (7:03am EST) at Moon Port Modelers RC Club and there was just one member there when I first arrived.

I wasted no time and got out all my Gear and of course the Senorita and proceeded to assemble the model (wing assembly onto the FUSE) etc...

I was able to fly the Senorita for two (2) wonderful flights. The first flight was completely Dead Calm conditions and the 2nd flight was with perhaps nothing over 6 MPH and with a slight gusty conditions. Both flights were picture perfect and even with the 6-MPH conditions I was able to land the Senorita completely Dead Stick (No Motor) and it glided perfectly for the best landing ever. Many there were shocked that this model is being flown with just 3-Cell, Li-POLYs.

Okay, here are a flew static pictures from today, before and after the flights.

Thumbs up Tuesday early morning RC Flying!

Wow! Just could not believe how Dead Calm it was today at my Club (Moon Port Modelers RC) in Titusville, Florida. The wind sock was completely vertical all the way until I left.

Arrived right at 7:02am and was able to fly the Senorita for two (2) wonderful and majestic flights. Each flight was 10 minutes using some older generic brand 3-Cell, 5000mAH, 12C discharge, Li-POLYs and they came cucumber Cold from the model and nothing 1/2 throttle was used. And each measured 11.6 Volts after the first flight and 11.52 Volts for the second flight from a Off-The-Charger Voltage of 12.59 Vots.

The lowest throttle setting was reached right at between 1/4 throttle and 1/2 throttle and the model slowed down to the point that you can admire every detail of the model as it passed by the pilots station.

My goodness, this model really has a very nice flight characteristics.

Each landing was performed completely Dead Stick (No Power).
