Default Electric conversion of Kyosho Spitfire 40/90 + sound system

Hi, In order to demo my sound effects system I would like to install it in a Spitfire and was thinking of the Kysoho ARF Spitfire 40 or 90 with a conversion to electric propulsion.

I have two questions :

1) Can anybody recommend an electric power plant, battery and ESC for both these models and tips on how to do the conversion.

2) My sound system may weigh in at about 13oz. Would the smaller 40 size be able to handle that payload or would I have to go to the larger 90 size?

Thanks,
David

Aloha,

I'd recommend the .90 size Spit as you wil probably need that much nose weight (13oz) to balance it anyway. (Adding 13 oz of dead weight to a .40 size plane will likely make it a brick.)

As far as a power system, consider the following as a starting point. (keep in mind there are lots of alternatives)

Motor: E-Flight Power 110
Battery: 8S 5000mA pack. (20C discharge rate or better)
ESC: Castle Creations Phoenix 85 HV (you will need a flight battery or UBEC for servo power)

Just my 2 cents,

Good luck
