Default motors for fans

Hi: I have asked this question before, but still haven`t got a satisfactory answere: I am looking for a high end set up for my, Combat Models, A-10. I have it finished it at this point. It comes out to 6lb, with the retracts, servoes, receiver, and two 3 1/2" fans installed. It doesn`t have much wing area, so I suspect it will take pretty high power to fly it. I was going for two Mega 2220/2s with 2 Duralite 5 cell, 3300 batteries, and a 70 watt ESC, but I don`t think they will be enough. Any one got any suggestions?

Boy do I know the feeling!
Sorry I don't have any suggestions for the A10, but as for not getting satisfactory answers I do have one:
If you give the posters of nonsense answers a smart time, you can blow them away 1 by 1, and then at least you won't have to deal with those answers anymore. It something like process of elimination.

22/20/2 on 5s should get you around 850 watts per fan so 1700 watts.
At 6 pounds that's 283 watts per pound.

What more could ya ask for??

I'm with Bill. I don't have an answer for you either, but have seen you ask before. Wish I could help. Give Randy and DynamoElectrics a jingle and I'm sure he can recommend a proper Mega for you.

Justin

EDIT: Randy hit enter before I did.

Do you have any pics of your CBM A-10, as i just started to build mine today.........

Randy's power set up is great on the A-10,,, but as for me, i'm propbably going for 1500 watts per side.......... meaning i'm going to throw lots of cash at mine.

When you say 70A esc do you mean 2 of?? I am guessing you mean one for each fan!

There is an A10 in the latest issue of RCM&E, it weighs 27.5 pounds, 130" wingspan and runs a pair of 120mm turbo4000 fans at 1500w each. 16 pounds of thrust and it flies well they say. His next fan setup is 150mm with custom made motors running at 4Kw all up and 22lbs thrust!!

Sorry this didnt help you much, but a 130" A10 is an impressive beast
