Default Scorpio Hellcat CG?

Hi folks,

Got a nice used Scorpio Hellcat. Just need to put an RX in her and set the CG. One problem. No instructions.

Anybody got a manual they can check the CG location for me please?

Thanks!

Ok Tom here's a pic for ya.

It's all stock. Long can 400 motor, 10 cell NiMH, 4 servos. I'd like to fly her this weekend.

Looks great. What's the wingspan on it? Make sure and let us know how it flys. Good luck with the maiden.

WOOT!!

A fellow flying buddy just emailed me scans of the manual!!

Just in case anybody needs this info later on it's Step #53 in the manual and says 70-80MM from the leading edge at the wing root.

I used to have one of those, and I'll tell you, that is one sweet flyer of a warbird! I still miss mine!

The Scorpio Hellcat is a very sweet flyer. To bad HL does not import it any more even if it was a bit pricy for a foamy. Mine was given to me by a friend but missing the motor/gearbox that I would not have used anyway. I am using a Himax 2816, CC25 and 2100mah 3s lipo. I built mine without landing gear, who wants to see a warbird with the gear hanging down? Easy hand launch and floats in on her belly. I added panel lines, guns, weathering, cocpit detail and proper markings. She is one of my regular go to birds.

I got one of these, but now it's called GELCAT. Its a little fragile, so be gentle with landings, otherwise she'll be covered with epoxy like mine. The Nippy Black 1608 with lipos just rocks, so epoxy is not a problem.
I build it with removable wing and a little reinforcement where tail meets the fuse. Also put a layer of thin fiber inside the cowl.

I guess you could call mine a glascat. I used 3/4oz glass cloth and Minwax WBPU on the whole inside and bottom outside of the fuse. The balsa stringers down the sides were extended back to the tail. The wing is hard mounted but I cut a large access hatch into the top of the fuse. She will just float in for a landing so slow that she will not hardly slide at all after touchdown.

Thanks Alex 242, those threads are a big help! Had not thought of searching for Hobby Lobby Hellcat.

Hello.
I have a Spitfire kit but no instructions. Would you be so kind as mailing me the instrions for the Hellfire, I understand they are the same as for the Spitfire.
