Default NASCAR 2008 - The Start of the SPRINT Era

Well, folks, it's just a handful of weeks to go and we will be in the midst of a brand new NASCAR season. Here is the place to kick back and enjoy some good-natured discussion of our favorite drivers, racetracks, and anything else NASCAR!

Perhaps we should start with some predictions for this year's Champ?

My choice should be obvious to those of you who followed last year's thread: Dale Earnhardt Jr will win his first championship this year, using Hendrick equipment, in his first year away from his father's company, DEI. Junior begins racing for Rick Hendrick this year, and I forsee good things happening to him starting right here in 2008!

I forgot all about that. When I here Sprint I think of the local dirt tracks .

My prediction for this years Champion...uummm...I guess maybe I'll go with the man, the 2 time former champion, and the best driver on the circuit today <insert drum roll> TONY STEWART !!!!

Yeah it sounds stupid.....why they had to change it I dunno.....is Sprint planning on dumping the NEXTEL name? I got direct connect (anyone want the number? LOL) and hope that doesn't go away.....

Of course, Junior in the number EIGHTY-EIGHT sounds all wrong too, but such is life in the world of NASCAR....

As the left-front turns.......

I believe that is the plan...heard it or read it somewhere.

I like Tony and JR but I think Bud/Kahne will do some good things this year.

Still pretty much going in a left hand circle, oval whatever for days upon end. OK, I'll get out while I'm alive.

Tom,

We really should live closer so I can school you on NASCAR.....on a ROAD COURSE, they make left AND right hand turns....

But then again, road courses are the most boring things in NASCAR......

Well, most boring besides the Green-White-Checkers.........LOL

I thought the only time they made a RH turn was to avoid a tire rolling down the track.
