Arlington Texas Site Field
#1

Free to fly here in Arlington but the landowner requires AMA. This is a 3rd site of a AMA club that is located far east. So its a branch of a club and there is only one or two people flying here.
In fact I dont know how to get anyone to show up? Any ideas?

Well - I am close - but have a field 15 minutes from home. So that makes it difficult to pass my field on the way to Arlington. I would have LOVED one when there - they club at that time was HORRIBLE, unfiendly and not looking for new members. I even asked the club president if I could bring a group of Boy Scouts and fly there to show them about it and he said NO! I was just shocked. What a great ambassador for the hobby.
How about setup an event - and invite folks to attend.

I'll try to make it next week. Is the field groomed or just bring my hand launchers? I take it there's no covered hangar area or AC power so bring charged packs ?
Kill the Radian sounds like fun. I killed a smallish profile 3D gasser today unintentionally with my Rare Bear. He was able to land safely. I was not. The Bear lost it's v-stab and the motor popped out somewhere in the thorn brush. I felt awful and while I was still looking for parts and pieces as he packed up and left in a huff. Wanted to give him a new Yak-54 I won in a raffle on Saturday. Was not really sure it was totally my fault as I was just running simple circuits trying to trim out the Rare Bear. I was up first.
Oh well. My first mid-air.

There is AC power that the Gas station put in outdoors for us when they saw us flying. They were renovating then.
There is a dirt road in this site but lil wheels wont roll on it. The grass was just cut but its not the runway type of grass and its not real short. It was cut by tractor for us.

It has been almost a year since your post on the flying site on the Trinity Methodist Church property. I go there often, but, have always been a little nervous using the site. Does anyone still fly at the site or just me?
