Default What a great day!

Well it's been one of those weeks... until today.

Got up this morning to head into work and it was almost warm enough to go without a jacket, first time in ages, October I think was the last time, and the sky was actually a bit light, not quite dawn but close. I hate going to work in the dark.

Got to work and actually got complimented on by the Fire Chief in the morning Staff meeting for saving the Air Force almost $23k on a project I am working on.

Then the Commissary won a contest a while back and the grand prize was a free breakfast and concert provided by Smucker's and Rhonda Vincent and the Rage band. IBMA (international Bluegrass Music Association Entertainer of the year and one of, if not my favorite Bluegrass groups. I sat out in the warm morning sunshine watching my favorite kind of music. After the concert I was able to meet Rhonda and actually get a few pics made with her. A buddy of mine took them and I'll post them when I get them from him.

After that I did manage to get a bit of work done and came home a bit early.

Got home and I had a package in the mail from Castle! My new ICE HV80 ESC came in. The expected three week turnaround turned out to only be 1 WEEK! SWEET!!!!

Looking forward to getting the connectors all on it tomorrow and having her ready to do some test runs!

All in all a great day!

Thanks everyone, just finished watching a nice movie with the wife, now it's time to hit the sack.

Softball practice in the morning, I coach our Church team, then it'll be time to work on the Pitts!

Bill,

Thanks for sharing. BG pickers are great folks. Rhonda and her band played several festivals we attended here in Texas. Super nice Lady!

Yeah they are SW. Somewhere up in my attic I have an LP from the Osborne Brothers from back in the 60's. They played a show once back in my hometown and I took it and they both signed it for me.

I told Sonny that I was trying to learn the Banjo and he showed me a few pointers and let me pick on his for a bit. I never followed through learning after I went into the AF, wish I would have though.

It's never too late.

I still remember our first bluegrass festival in Grapeland Texas. We set up our camper and took off to walk around the grounds. It was so cool to hear the groups of people gathered around a campsite playing music and the sound of the stand up bass echoing through the campgrounds.

I've played guitar since I was 7. I picked up a mandolin a couple of weeks later, then a stand up bass, and finally an old Gibson RB 250 banjo. I'm no Earl Scruggs but I can hold my own in a pickin' circle. Pull out your banjo and go for it! I promise it will make you smile.
