Post Don't know which batteries to get

I am new to the RC world. I am building a kit T-REX 700X TOP. I am not sure which brand and model batteries to get. What do you recommend? Side note: I bought this helicopter to modify with an Autopilot etc at some point. I am just building it while learning on other RCs.

I just got some from these guys. So far so good. I got a couple 6 moths or so ago and liked them so bought new ones this fall. The prices are great and they are performing as well, if not better than the big money ones I got from Flex Innovations.

WOW - wish you all the luck - jumping in on a TREX 700 !!

Batteries : Stay away from such as eBay ... many are rejects / B standards sold off at A standard prices.

Stay with recognised sellers ... as to which is better ? Most sellers are selling packs re-labelled as there actually not that many actual battery producers.. but many assembly lines !

Two important factors once you identify the cell number you need ... 2 cell .. 3 cell ... 4 cell etc. - The two being CAPACITY and second C rate.

Capacity is for flight time

C rate is for max discharge amp rate

Helicopters tend to be like EDF models - needing a relatively high C rate to be able to suffer the power demands ....

Info and tests, about C-ratings, discharge rates, stickertuning and other blatant lies. Using uniform tests, getting published/referred in opening posts:

And there's this post#198 by Frank Siegert, about (yet) another advantage of heating a battery to body temperature, through and through, for about one hour. Before using and before charging. Not only voltage is higher and battery wear lower, but also ...
