Ok, Got those Pesky air intakes done, That was a PITA 1st attempt failed with 2mm depron, I came up with another Idea, use 9mm depron top and bottom, and 6mm on the sides and sand the curve in to it, It came out ok, now to cut out the canopy opening and make a plastic bubble to go over it, Its almost done Take care, Chellie

Looking good, Chellie! It looks like you'll have a working rudder, too? What about landing gear?

A sort of OT question, in that F-20 tribute video, does anyone know where to find that song? I've downloaded the one linked at YouTube, and another, and they are just like the slow part of the song that goes on and on and never gets anywhere...

I keep an eye out for smaller, thinner wheels for my EDF's. They're fine on the paved and (mostly) hard packed dirt runways I fly from. And I hope it's a little less drag than the fat stock wheels they came with! You'll need all the help you can get for that race! And yes, good luck with the canopy! If nothing else, I guess you could just make a foam one with blacked out windows.

From the looks of it, i think a soda bottle will work, I have a bunch of plastic bottles around here so it should not be to hard to find something that will work, I cant belive all the Spammers we are getting right now, I just keep reporting them, and the mods nail them, wattflyers needs to get a bot killer, that will help to keep computer generated spam away,

I was looking for a plastic bottle to make a canopy With, I searched High and low and could not find one, so I turned my Attention to EBay, and found a canopy that I can make work for me, and it was only $7.99 , i was going to try to make a plug and use a soda bottle and heat shrink it onto the plug, but i have never done that before, and it looked like it was going to be a ton of work, $7.99 looked more attractive to me LOL

The canopy is 13" long, perfect because I need a 10 1/4" long canopy and i will have to trim it down a bit anyway, and it looks to have the perfect radius on top in the middle.

Hi Crash I epoxied 2 pieces of ply on the ruler, drilled a hole through the wood, on the bottom of the front gear, i put a metal collar and washer and the top is held with the arm assy that has a set screw, i ground a flat spot on the shaft where the set screw touches the shaft and used red locktite, its stronger than the plastic LG housing.

Very nice.
Is there sufficient ground clearance for the prop?

I Hope So I am going to have to cut my 8" prop down to a 7" to give myself 1 1/2" of ground clearance, and that will still be cutting it close I may have to move the motor up a little from centre, I would like to have 2" of ground clearance.

I Know huh I Love that sound we have to use a edf with 10 or 12 blades to even get close to that sound, that was one of the reasons for wanting a edf fan blade with a ring on it to get even close to that sound. I have been doing a little research and found a 90mm fan blade and a 90mm speedi sleeve my 1600kw motor only has a 4mm motor shaft and I need a 5mm shaft motor Oh well I will have to buy a 5mm shaft motor later on I can use a 70mm fan blade with a 4mm shaft motor, but a 70mm blade wont be big enough, because i know i am going to loose some performance from not using a shroud, any way its an Idea that I am looking into, Take care, Chellie

Hi Everyone I Got a little more done today, I made the hatch opening a little wider, made a balsa hatch and saddle, and started to cut the plastic canopy to fit the balsa hatch cover, Its getting there its starting to look like a jet now The hatch will have 2 small dowels on the front and a very strong magnet on the rear to hold it in place with, it will need very strong magnets doing 150 MPH to hold the canopy down with Ok maybe 100 MPH, here are some pics of the progress, Take care, Chellie
