I think a few days for a completed plane waiting for maiden weather would be OK. To my way of thinking, the contest was more about encouraging people to build something. Competition is secondary.

I had the Tigercat out today in 15 mph wind. I need more power to fly routinely in that kind of wind! Wouldn't want to maiden in that. (Wind direction was straight down the runway so the landings were sweet; should have brought my camera.)

Thats great that your plane fly good yes this competition did encourage people to build something, and some sweet builds came out of it Myself i am not worried about having to drop out, due to unforeseen circumstances, thats just the way it goes, I still Win, I have a nice F-20 plane Take care, Chellie

+1 to giving more time to maiden Chell's F-20 (and anyone else who has something near done)......I agree, competition IS a byproduct of the group of us putting imagination to flight
Let the wind die down.

Hi Ray That would be nice, but i have to be Fair to all the other contestants that got their build done on time and got a video of it, I ran into unforeseen problems after problems with my build, I learned something from that, Dont build a F-20 for a Contest LOL, I will get my plane flying soo, it will have landing gear for ROG, I will feel better with having the LG, I think it will save the undercarriage from damage, Take care, Chellie

Been a while. Hope that's not a bad sign. Anyway, went to the Flying Leathernecks Marine Corps aviation museum today, and had to pose with this. I know, it's an F-5, not an F-20. But they're close relatives, aren't they? Just a little inspiration, I hope.

Nice Pic I am not sure who is cuter, you or the F5, Hmmmmmm Going to have to give me a few day on this one, But I am Kind of leaning towards the F5 LOL,

The F-20 is kind of on Hold for a little while, although I have worked on the landing gear a little, My Son Accidently pushed the top half of a kitchen hutch on to my leg, knee and shoulder, I told him do not touch the top half, lift and move the hutch towards me, we were painting the kitchen and had to move things around, he put his shoulder into the top hutch and it slipped onto my left leg and moved down to my knee, and bruised my shoulder, OUCH, I have been in pain for over 3 weeks, I smell like an OLD Person with all the BENGAY I have been using and Motrin has helped to relief the Inflammation in the muscles, starting to get better now, I really want to fly the F-20 Take care, Chellie

Default F-20 of $50 build Contest

Dang, this thread was a good read. Sorry to see you got damaged recently, but it seems you are healing fine. Hope you get over this last mishap and can complete a successful maid. It would be nice to read and see all went well after so many changes in plan and design. Until next time ...
