Default E-flite Enticement

Hi all, Just picked this one up.. This will be my first profile 3Der. I have strayed somewhat from the recommended electronics as my LHS is more of a Heli store but with my lack of experience wont be entering any F3p comps so just after some suggestions good/bad. Have read some other threads/forums and one guy used a 1250mah and was still happy so here goes...

I have for this bird..APC 9x3.8 sloflyer prop,
E-watts CF2810/900kv outrunner,
Dualsky XC1210BA ESC,
Flightpower evo 20 800mah 2s and E-watts 1000mah 2s lipos,
8g micro servos and
AR6100e receiver.

Can't wait to get this thing together heard and read a lot of good things..
As usual with me any projects that i need to get right take a bit to get going...
Any suggestions greatly accepted...Cheers Darren

i had one for a few weeks.

you might be better off picking up a really small 3s lipo, as mine didnt like to go vertical with an 800mah 2s (but, i also tend to build really heavy - which this plane doesnt like).

otherwise, just build it light, and try to reinforce the wing roots (where the foam starts to curve out to form the wing) as mine developed cracks there rather quickly. but, like i said, i built mine heavy and flew it outside all the time.

I'm figuring it's gonna be heavy. Especially the motor. People are using those on Swift's. How heavy is the motor? 40g+? That's not going to work. It would tear up the mount on hard landings, and just be a royal pain to balance.

I figure if you can pick up one of the suppo 2204/14's you'll be fine. Cheap and light, good power too. I wouldn't't use anything over a 400mah lipo either. A 800 2s lipo will be too heavy and not yield enough power.

like 3disaster said, those components seem too heavy. 3d is all about wing loading, the lighter the better. you dont have to buy the over priced eflite stuff but try to find components that weigh the same the recommended parts and have similar power. weight is critical, it can make or break a 3d plane.

Thanks guys,
Here's a link to the motor...

http://www.wattsuprc.com.au/product_...sp?pid=EW-M003

I was looking at the Kong Power i think they were 450mah. The FlightPower dimensions are 75mmL x 33mmH x 10mmW. The only difference with the KongPower was the length at 60mm. I thought at double the capacity for the little extra weight was probably worth it.

If i go back to the KongPower i will prob need to change the motor as well??

what do the kongpowers weigh? weight is more important on a profile than size. in my previous experience, kongpowers are heavy for their capacity.

the motor you chose weighs 40+g's, the recommended motor is just 14g's, about 1/3 less. they recommend a 2s 480mah pack, yours are also twice that size. they also recommend 6gram servos and you're going with 8g servos. and the esc is 2 grams more than the recommended (negligible but when combined with the rest of the components it really adds up). that plane with the current components will fly like a brick and it definitely will not 3d.

Thanks Yaniel, was looking all that up as i read you last post. Need to make some changes i think.. Most of what i grabbed off him was old stock so was helping him out a bit. He really looks after me so bit sad i need to throw it all back at him..
The Kong Powers are heavier
The recommended 2s-23gms
Kong Power-30gms
My FlightPower 2s-51gms
My E-watts2s-58gms
How much is too much

So how well do the suppos hold up, specifically the 2204/14. versus say an e-flite park 250 bl

Well as suspected it didnt work. May have gotten away with most of it but not the motor. Stupidly nose heavy and no way of CGing it right. Looking for smaller motor and lipos. Will stick with speedy and servos but the rest needs to be as recommended....

I loved my suppo. Lasted me a really long time. Had no problem pulling around my Vrolet bipe, so an Enticement would be nothing. I took my motor and milled it down and swapped the shaft for a CF one. Got it to about 15-16g.
