A couple of guys were flying some at my club field this afternoon. Seemed to fly very well despite winds that would an Aero Ace.

What troubles me about this model is that it doesn't really say "Mini" on it. And all of the sudden Target had a 18$ blitz to clear out all inventory of the product... Finally couple this with a Target manager saying that they are dropping the original Storm Launcher... Is the original Storm Launcher being axed?

Target (and Walmart) both heavily discount many toys after Christmas. They buy many units and then dump the extras. Since the bulk of the toy dollars spent each year are in the fourth quarter you have to have product on the shelf or you will lose the sale.

The original SL will still be around but Target is going with the one with a lower price. It is alot easier to sell $35-40 toys than $100-120.

Fair enough. But who on earth puts out two products with the exact same name that are different? "Storm Launcher Mini" or something else would have been a better description?

Unfortunately my fears have been just validated: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...postcount=5396

Get the original SL while you can, it appears they have stopped production on new ones.

Thanks for the link, not much info yet, it says just 6 AA batterys does that mean it comes with the battery for the plane . guess have to wait and see. I think it would be fun for the front yard in small spots, should get a lot of looks.

If somebody is dying to get one, PM me and I can pick it up for you, just pay the shipping?

39.99 for the mini, it charges off the remote like the Aero Ace.

So is the new mini SL a thrust vector design with no pitch control?

The new mini is differential thrust with no elevator. It's easier to fly than the SL IMHO, but it doesn't go on water. Although Target is dumping their SL's the others are keeping it, and it's still in production as far as I know.

Will we have to wear a bag over our heads to fly it? Fashion conscious consumers need to know...

Ohhh Alright so its like that huh, so how long of a flight will it fly for? you only have motor control right.

The big one did come with a elevator or did it? I guess I have seen so many being moded its confusion.

Nope its not good for grass, except for flying over, or practicing clean landings, which can be done on asphalt or...

My son still flies his now and then - the thing refuses to break, despite numerous crashes... He's getting better tho...
