It seems that the insurance is secondary to a homeowners policy or any other insurance you may have

There is debate about where you are covered and not.........One reason i just fly at the club field......Covered there for sure!!!.....

I think I will call AMA and ask.....I have seen this debated many times, so an answer from the "parent club" may be the way to go.....

I think that is watt Murph is talking about. I thought as long as it falls in to the AMA guidelines for watt represents a safe field you are covered.

O.K......I CALLED AMA MEMBER SERVICES today.......you/me/we are covered anytime and anywhere!!!!
The one thing that does apply is that the AMA safety code has to be adhered to!!
If you do not follow the code you may be at risk of exempting your coverage......
This is directly from an AMA member services representative....

AMA code:

http://www.modelaircraft.org/PDF-files/105.pdf

Insurance summary:

http://www.modelaircraft.org/PDF-files/500-A.pdf

There are rules involved, but if followed AMA members aree insured in places other than Chartered Flying Clubs.

Fly Safe........especially you "Freddo".

Default Hawker Typhoon Updates

Murph thanks for the info on the AMA. Definatley going to join, mau wait to join a club. With my work schedule its hard to have any real spare time.
Back to the Typhoon as I type this message I'm printing out the 24 pages of the first sheet, then once thats done its time to cut and tape the pages together. Going to wait for the wing pages, no since in printing them out and losing them. Once started and going smooth I will start a new thread.

Just to give you guys an idea of the build process check out these builds...P-40 70.5" wingspan
and FFF Corsair.
Heres how I cut my ribs. Take the template and trace it onto some balsa or formica (floor tile) then sand to finish shape and where they match. Then tape them together so don't move. Drill 2 holes roughly where you want your CF rod going, then using a brass tube push it through the foam and sandwhich the foam between the template. Then just use a cheap hotwire from a crafts store to cut them out. I'm going with .5" foam for ribs for strenght and more surface area to glue.

Well I'm kinda in the market for a plotter right now because of the many pages I print. Been searching Ebay and found a couple potentionals, but shipping is way expensive, so local pick up is almost a must. There is a possiblity to by new.. but it needs to be in the price range.

Check this card model I found of the Typhoon. Would be great for a
simple foamie profile. Check out the inscriptions, the one about the fire is hilarious.

When you click on the pic, look in the bottom right corner. Theres a little purple square tingy, click on it to show actual size. I don't want to ruin for everyone else
