Default Arrows 50mm Viper vs E-Flite 70mm Viper...Under or over?

Comparing the Arrows Viper (no 'legs')hand launch with the E-Flite Viper 70mm (with 'legs') With the help of my Granddaughter (Pitching) I practiced the Arrows Viper launch on the beach, I finally had flight success...but at what cost. Check out which method you launch a jet, underarm or overarm and is that cricket? Once I mastered this , I moved onto the BIG Viper.

Underarm as it has less 'twist' as the arm traverses forward.

But for reliable repeated launches and SOLO ...... the bungee beats all ......

Default Wonderful video

Well done mate.I can see by the jet you have had a lot of trials but your way to launch is the best. Regards Bellairvideo ex Tasmanian & Southsea/Portsmouth now in Geelong Australia.

Blimey ... used to run fuel into Geelong .... we banned the local Seamans Mission guy from visiting the ship ... he used to pinch our table tennis balls and enjoy the ships bar a bit too much ! That was back in the late 70's.

That T45 64mm is well used .... years old and STILL flying today. Its the Lanyu version ... I also have an older 50mm Jpowers T45 .. still flying as well ...

Surely it all depends on the wing loading of the EDF and by how much below full power is a launch possible to limit the effect of motor torque at launch speed.
As I fly from rough grass all my EDFs whatever size & shape have to be hand launched solo by me so weight is a key factor.
My 850 mm span F6 Hunter, relatively big but light for its 50 mm EDF, using a solo over arm launch.
Glide approach. Note the short landing slide.
