OK ... amazing how the human mind works.

Often when I am scratchbuilding - I have ideas come to mind and I alter or add to the design. The U/C legs are just such a moment.

I am sitting there letting the laser machine cut the mounting plates and BHAM ... I realised that I could actually make the U/C removable ....

Here you see the U shaped leg and wheel trapped in place. The support on the far right - I cut with the holes to insert L ends of legs into - but then they would be permanent ...
I then decided to cut a second support but with long slots the legs could sit in. A third support plate to encapsulate the legs ...
Basically the sandwich creates two holes for the legs to slot into.

The rectangular piece of ply is to be glued behind the U/C to provide a plate for second U shaped rods to run to rear from the U/C legs. That can be saddle clamped and will be enough to stop the U/C falling out. Removal is simple - remove rear saddle clamp and it all unplugs.

Just have to bend the second set of rods ... to create the rearward angle support.

Slot cut in spine ...

Legs with rear angled supports ....
Bound with carpet thread ... zapped with CA and then heat shrink over top ...

I used yellow so you could see it clearly. I will put second Heat shrink over and further up the legs (black).

Guns fitted .... went the 2x .05 route ....

OK ... dry fit to see her ...

UC seems to look OK ... just needs to 'black' those rear angle rods ...

Guns etc ...

Will follow with another post

Have dug out sufficient :

3 core domestic cable to provide motor wire extensions so ESC's are in fuselage.

Servo wire for aileron servo's.

After building the Mossie and then the full fuz Vulcan ... I have considered adding support for wing skins.

Here's riblets dry taped in place before gluing.

Wired up ... servos in place ... just need sort sound and speaker mounts.

3D printed grills to fit under wing ... cut holes for sound ... plates now glue curing ..

General idea ...

OK ... speakers mounted .... to strengthen the area - a second layer of 6mm Depron was applied and speaker set into it. This allowed the grill underneath to be set into the wing Depron to make level.

Speakers mounted ready for me to now apply wing skins...

Really looking fwd to this one ... I'm hoping that the foam box construction will add to the speakers by resonance etc. Must get a test done !!
