There are couple types of 2.4Ghz "standards" one won't work with the other. You need to find out which you have. There is DSM/Spektrum and FAAST/Futaba. Probably more out there and even more on the way.

Think of it like how JR and Futaba FM stuff doesn't mix.

Everythign is so proprietary at this point that I doubt anything that is branded with "2.4GHz" is compatible with anything else branded as "2.4GHz".

Just like everything else, it takes awhile to for standards to arise.

If they call it FAAST it is Futaba compatible, DSM is Spektrum compatible. FAAST and DSM are trademarks so no confusion there noone can use those terms (legally) without consent. Check the specs on whatever you buy, as a general rule, "If your not sure don't risk it".

Fair enough. Thanks guys. There doesn't seem to be a way to find out so I won't risk it.
A radio that works with only one plane is such a waste. I'll pass.

Intersting read about 2.4GHz. Looks like there is some work to do in that area. It's called marketing! Too much to consider and too complicated for me at this time though....I guess I'll keep flying my 72MHz stuff as it still works!

Ah, thread revived! I thought we had all gotten too bored with the Crash Sale offerings. It has been awhile since there was anything interesting on sale (IMO).

The only thing that I found worthwhile was the sale in their parking lot a while back. Maybe if they dropped their prices they wouldn't have to have a yard sale (evil grin).

Me neither. Guess I missed the big jet sale. By the time I saw it, I thought I was at the Nitroplanes website. Almost everything you would want at sale prices, is out of stock. Out-of-stock-troplanes.

I just got an email from HL about a 60% off sale. Clicked the link and sure enough... 60% off an inflated prices on six helis, bringing them down to the price everyone else is selling them for. What a crock!

Yep....I've given up even looking. I usually delete the email without opening it up. IMHO a sale should be just that, a sale.

Got two $12 coupons for the LHS. That will bring the E-Flite Nieuport down to $45. Can anyone beat that? Not even ebay for a used one

Then I sold it, and missed it.

I took advantage of the crash sale on the J-Power F-5 Tiger and F-4 Phantom. Man, am I ever glad I did -- the F-5 flys great, right out of the box!

I haven't flown the F-4 yet, but the reviews are just as good as the F-5.

Mini Telemaster with motor and ESC pre-installed (PNP) for $124.99 and a spare set of wings!

That's a good deal. I'd probably grab one if my budget wasn't leveraged on the Shoestring

4-channel Ultra-Micro aerobatic RC plane
The Sukhoi Su-26m is an ultra micro plane that flies BIG. As the first 4-channel Ultra-Micro flyer to utilize Bind-N-Fly DSM2 technology, the Sukhoi Su-26m will thrill experienced pilots with its amazing aerobatic capabilities. Based on a Mike McConville design, this addition to ParkZone’s family of Ultra-Micro aircraft definitely doesn’t fly like a toy. Instead, it gives you the feel of being at the flying field, and its incredibly lightweight Spektrum AR6400 receiver and ESC board provide further value and convenience. An additional servo also plugs into the board to drive the Sukhoi’s ailerons.

The Sukhoi has been engineered for a true 4-channel experience, with its precision control making it perfect for flight in a large yard or gymnasium or even a park on a calm day. To start, all you need to do is charge the included 110mAh Li-Po battery and bind the plane to one of your compatible DSM2 transmitters. From rolling circles, loops and snap rolls to aileron rolls, spins and inverted flight, the maximum aerobatic performance of the Ultra-Micro Sukhoi Su-26m is unlike anything else in this size.

After spending the day out at the field, unwind with ParkZone’s 4-channel Sukhoi Su-26m, offering you more flying challenges and capabilities than you ever thought possible in an Ultra-Micro flyer.

Sukhoi Su-26m BNF Features:

Ya, I'd buy it but I'd rather have the Eflite bipe that is coming out. Its more 3d than this.

Yeah The one that's coming out last month, no this month...Wait! Next.... Umm...

Ironic that a product ostensibly called the 'foresight' would be plagued with such delays
