Default Thunder Tiger Zero???

Ran across this A6M2 Zero fighter the other day. Anyone have any experience with this aircraft? Has it been around for awhile? I'm seeing it selling for $89 in a few places. Is this a good price? Any input is appreciated. Thanks, RLeed

RLeed,I don't have the Zero yet but I have just received the P-40 and am impressed with the quality of this plane I got the plane and brushless motor version.will use my radio and servos.I plan on building it this winter.will order the Zero next I think you will like the product.

Quick.

I assume the fuselage is foam, Is it covered like the parkzone planes or bare foam? Did it have an esc? Kind of looks like a copy of the GWS. I may do the Zero later this winter, I'm doing the warbirdskits.com Ki-43 Oscar right now to satisfy my inner meatballer. Its a full build w/retracts but winters in IA are very, very long.

R,this is more than likely a up graded gws plane as it has a foam fuselage and is in 2 pieces.I only have 1 gws plane and this P-40 is much better quality.than it.I was going to order the Zero, but found a venom Zero, less radio for $99 bucks and got it.Good luck with the Ki-43.Warbirdskits are great kits, I live about 80 miles from Tom and just got the Hornet kit and can hardly wait to start it.I have loved the plane ever since I saw Dan Parsons fly his.your right about winters great for building.
Quick.

So far the Ki-43 is going well. I have the fuse pretty well done and am starting to lay up the wings. The retracts are pretty straight foward. I'm adding some spruce and ply to beef up the wing around the gear, taking great care that it won't get too heavy. I'm scratching my head on a steerable tail wheel. The fuse is quite narrow toward the empenage. I have a royal .60 size oscar that I flew way back when and it flies ok. Hope this one is as good.

RLeed;I received the Venom Zero tonight, came with v20l 3980kv brushless motor and ven-25amp brushless esc and micro servo installed.over all better plane than my gws corsair, finish better and fusealoge 1 piece. but not up to my thunder tiger P-40 both were the same price. I think I would opt for the thunder tiger if you are going to buy a zero.
JMHO.

Default The real deal

Here are some pictures of the Zero in the CAF museum downtown. It is the only (or was a couple of years ago) the only flyable one in the world. It gets flown still, and they had it out on the 4th of July. I have also seen it flying over our house. The Prosperity motor is a zero-hour engine, captured and brought back during the war.

Beautiful Pics. I believe this is an A6M3 model 22. (Short barrell 20mm cannons). There are now several examples flying, and several more under construction using recoverd wrecks as engineering templates, but I think only one has the original sake engine. The others utilize Pratt and Whitney 1830 engines. Pacificwrecks.com has some fascinating info on wrecks and restorations.
