Default Spektrum battery voltage telemetry?

So I helped a flying buddy by installing his rcvr and setting up a plane of his. He has a Dx7s, and he has the TM1000 telemetry module. I'm still on my Dx6i so I'm not all up on the telemetry system.

The instructions say 'External voltage telemetry
is commonly used to monitor flight pack voltage or you can monitor ignition batteries on gas engine equipped aircraft.'

So can it be used on our electric models to monitor the main lipo? A flight pack is a smaller battery usually used on nitro or gas planes to power the radio, right? And I'm not sure how big the ignition batt is on gas powered models. The manual says it can handle 0-60 volts, but the 'flight pack' wording just makes me wonder a little. Are our lipo's too big for this?

You are good to go, I am literally wiring up the battery sensor for a DX8 with TM1000 as I type this.
