I recently had a bad experience with my Spit on it's second flight where the TX & RX decided they weren't on speaking terms mid flight. I bought the plane off of Ebay with an alledged dead ESC/RX. It turned out that not only was the ESC/RX dead, but the TX had issues too.
I've bought a Spektrum DX7 and am slowly converting some of my parkflyers over to AR6100's
I'm needing advice one what the amperage of the ESC would be recommended for a 480 brushed motor & using Nimh batts if it matters. I don't have the time to do a brushless upgrade so that's out of the question.
Any ideas???

boodaghost - I reported the results of my motor runup tests on a wattmeter with a PZ Spit here (stock brushed 480 motor), if that helps.

i've pulled all the stock electronics from mine too and am using a DX7.

I'm using an Avionics Pilot 35 ESC, but I suspect you can go down to a 25, no problem.

I ended up buying a Parkflyers 50amp ESC because the Begin Air I have has a 480 in it and I felt with the Spit having a 480 as well, I coudn't go wrong.
