Default Single EDF nano FPV platform with Thrust Vectoring

Mono-Phan Triport is built to be the world’s first single EDF nano FPV platform.

It features a brand new 3 way split thrust vectoring system. The new system reduces the servo count to 3, along with weight and consumption. It proved to be a very easy to build and maintain thrust vectoring system.

It is constructed around a 55mm, low amp EDF and has a new 120 degree configuration of the classic longitudinal MonoPhan wings.

Believe it or not, below video is the first outside test! Even though it’s tiny, it flew perfectly from the first indoor flight to the first outdoor flight.

I installed a 5.8G nano Boscam DVR system on it. I am guessing that the flight time will be around 6 minutes. I will post some aerial videos when I have a chance to test more…

Thanks,

A better flight video with the camera on it. Next video will be an aerial one

Thats pretty cool!

What controller board are you using? Is it running the stock software or did you program something custom?

I cant tell from the pics how your doing the thrust vectoring. Can you post some more pics of how its setup?

Thank you Larry3215! I am using a multiwii board. The vectoring system consists of 3 direct driven U shaped aluminum nozzles. I will post more pictures when I have a chance.

The code was being revised since the beginning of MonoPhan project. I have multiple different versions for different thrust vectoring designs. For this particular design, I made a revision on the mixing ratios to make it able for a 120 degree three servo thrust vectoring design to be able to compensate for all four directions.

This absolutely blows my mind that you have achieved so much without a computer radio. Bravo sir. Very nice.

You dont really need a computer radio to fly most quads. The controller board - multi-wii in this case - does all the heavy lifting.

Thank you Sir! Appreciate the comment

Yes, multiwii is amazing in many ways. The flexibility that it provides via changing the code, the angle/horizon, etc... are great. The disadvantages are on the hardware side. It is really hard to use with servos, probably because it was designed to drive multicopter ESCs rather than servos. Sometimes I really miss those indestructible heli controllers that work in every condition, with a wide variety of input voltages.

Multiwii still wins though!

My TX is a very simple and reliable 6ch radio. It doesn't even do mixing. I like it this way because I like the unit have all the capabilities rather than the radio.

This is the first aerial video test that I did when I could find a couple of minutes today.

The video is recorded by the little Boscam dvr on my TX. I need to play with the dvr a little bit for better colors.

Here's a better aerial video that I took later in the day. Too windy though! So, didn't take it too high...
