The ama has a electric free flight class , called f3q , they use a timer that will give you the motor run you want , it controls a normal speed control , they are limited by a 90 gram battery , ( f3q 15 seconds motor run , or less in a flyoff ) time for your dt , usually 3 minutes , use a servo to dt the plane , the run time was shortened from 25 to 15 seconds , it was too easy to get the 3 minutes with the longer run time , some of the good guys can get the 3 minutes with a 5 second motor run , ive seen them use a scoripon , little screamer and many other motors out there.....
