It would be fun to watch those big birds fly combat. It would also be fun to fly them, but we can't even get good pilots to fly the F&F's, and they are cheap, and easy to build.
Plus if we started flying 3 pound combat planes, we would have to wear helmets. Like Eddie says, "if my head got dented on this side, it would mess up my part"

From my understanding there are several guys flying electric now. If/when I build one it will be electric.

I agree, it would be hard to get the guys at the Unclub into RCCA combat. I was thinking more like driving down to Dallas once a year to whoop the snot out of some Texans .

We would probably get handed our A$$, and a bag to take whats left of our planes home in.

Kind of looks like a F&F.

I do believe it is gas only. There might be an electric class, but unless it has changed, they don't mix gas and electric.

LOL smack talk and combat go together like peanut butter and jelly .

I'm not going to try and compete this year I just want to check it out. Winter is a slow time of year at work and my plane budget is busted.

LOL go get um Steve. I would love to get in on some of that Ultimate Combat. How many planes did they have in the air at once last year? I know it was a lot.

Wow! I actually worked on a plane today. I built a new F&F since my last one seemed to come apart while I was in Tulsa last fall. I haven't touched a plane since September. I had to remember how to build it again. I've also got another combat P-47 cut and glued together and starting to assemble the Grasshopper plane Brett built for me. I guess snow and crappy weather is good for something.

If you are enjoying building again you should try to get out and fly .

That's what I'm hoping for James. I don't have anything flying that I can step outside and fly. I figure if I get a few foamies going I can fly in front of the house some. All my other planes are a little too big and fast to fly at home.

Glad to hear your building again Tom. Combat planes, hmm. When you come to Tulsa this year, we promise not to destroy your planes.

You know, I think your radio gear will survive ok.

Well, your pushrods will definatly be re-usable.

I think the Unclub guys need to take a road trip to see you this year.
Pick a date, a warm date. I'll come fly with you. You'll have home field advantage.

Forget the streamer cutting. I'm gonna cut off your tail first, then your wings, and then as your wreckage is going down, a quick swoop thru your fuse to finish off the electronics. If you get out your backup plane, expect more of the same. If you say "please spare me", I might let you Tap Out.

Bring it on Arjay! Full contact is good for me. I'll help you pick up your foam off the field.
