CONGRATS Stuart! That means as I type this you are retired! GREAT!
I retired fron the USN, and I retire again and forever from the FAA in 389 days. That will be a total of 42 years Federal service. And the next month after that I turn 62 and get SS ... if it still exists! I can't wait to join you!

I started RC last year just b4 79. Good pilot instructor/ buddy box. Have 5 planes, PkZ Decathlon, GWS Slow Stick (w/Radical RC mods), Stevens Aero Sky Buggy, Stevens Lil' Squirt, Mountain Mods Tyro 150(still in box).
Tried Realflight ver 3 and FMS latest ver. RF is good but FMS has three planes exact or close to mine. Have better than 75 hrs on FMS take off (easy) and landing (NOT so easy) Decathlon, Slow Stick and one other (SilkyWind400) seem to behave great.
The one close to my Sky Buggy is the Clancy Lazy Bee which seems to have some difficult (to me) characteristics. I'm anxious (actually frantic) to discuss and get some pointers on flying this config of plane (wide flat, no dihedral wing, SHORT, DEEP fuse).
Anyone out there?
Ready anytime now, Thanks Fly2

COME MAY 14TH i'LL TURN 80, THE GOOD LORD WILLING AND THE CREEK DON'T RISE.
I STARTED MODELING AROUND AGE 10. I HAVE BEEN A SCRATCH BUILDER FOR MOST OF THAT TIME. I STARTED IN RADIO IN 1960 AND WAS ACTIVE UNTIL 1974. I QUIT THE HOBBY FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS WHILE HAVING AND EDUCATING 4 CHILDREN. I HAVE BEEN MARERIED TO MY WONDEFUL WIFE FOR 56 YEEARS.
SHE NOT ONLY SUPPORTS ME BUT MY HOBBY ALSO.

Just turned 70, on ,Jan. 14'th, I hit the ground running and at least I can still get up and walk around every day now. Don't feel much older, but when I look in the mirror I'm still trying to figure out who the old guy is.

Actually enjoyed my annual physical Thursday. The NPa saw a comment from the Nuclear Stress Test I had a year ago. Seems at 66, I was in better shape than her 27 year old husband. EKG trace was textbook perfect, and my pulse rate didn't quite reach the final target. Apparently, the tech wrote down that I had absolutely no trouble carrying on an unbroken conversation at the final minute.
Told her, and the quack, it's the workout I get from flying model airplanes. During a FF contest, I have gotten as much as 9 miles cross country walking in a 6 hour competitive day, chasing. Better excersize than golf, especially hand launch and towline glider.
