I just got my copy of Towertalk. They have a nice selection of float planes that will fly nicely off snow

I am looking forward to spring weather myself. Flying my Estes Proto X and HeliMax 1SQ quad copters indoors is fun, but I am ready to get back outside and get some stick time in. I have decided that in the spring I am going to sell my nitro Traxxas Slayer short course truck and get a Blade 500X. It is time to get a larger heli and the 500X is a great machine

• Easy to use AirWare software offers the same proven programming found in more expensive radios
• Smooth, precise Four Bearing Gimbals
• AR610 6 Channel full range receiver included
• Programming capability for most sailplanes, can support 4 Sailplane wing types and 3 tail types
• Supports the most popular Spektrum Telemetry sensors
• Includes 4 AA Alkaline batteries, optional Lithium Ion battery with charger (available separately)
• 5 programmable mixes - all mixes are selectable to be normal or 7 point curve multi-point mixes
• Dual Aileron, Elevon, and V-Tail Differential

• 7 Swashplate types
• 7-point throttle (air and heli) and pitch curves (heli) Adjustable for smooth throttle and pitch curves
• Intuitive SimpleScroll™ programming interface
• Advanced DSMXฎ technology (DSM2ฎ compatible)

I got this little quad for Christmas. It is blast to fly and is especially fun in the dark with all the led lights it has

The new DX6 looks nice. I just wonder why they reused "DX6" I have still have the original DX6 and it is NOTHING like the new one.

Not sure why they went with DX6 either? I have the DX6i, which is nothing like the new one either. It will be interesting to see what else Horizon Hobby releases in the next couple of months

Before

After

For the HAPPENS files, the Mini Telemaster is no longer with us.

Still not quite sure what happened. Had everything rough trimmed (all surfaces faired) yet on the first flight she wanted to hard over to the right. Got her back on the ground safely. Make a few tweaks and on the second flight she went hard over to the left and I could not save that one.

Anyone have a DX6i kicking around that they want to let go? I have a friend looking for one.

Only thing that comes to mind would be a control surface loosen up on you, what were you tweaking on btw? Sorry for the loss, they make more of them....

Just falls under the crap happens category. Tweaking as in base trim settings and a slight CG mod. Nothing I did "should" have caused a hard over. It had ailerons that were driven by a center mounted servo via linkage at the center trailing edge. It is possible one of them was slipping on the shaft and stuck, but that is only a guess.

On a happier note, I finally got around to lighting up the Slow Stick and flying it around the back field last night.

I got in 5 flights this morning. It was great to get on the sticks again! I definitely have to get some new lipos. airplane performance was way down.
