Golden Age Reproductions, Small-Scale Kits
#1

Golden Age Reproductions company, located in Andover, Mass., is offering 43 scale model kits, these are the classic "stick + Tissue" Free Flight type construction models similar to Guillows, Comet, etc. The kits include Esaki tissue, plans and all wood needed for building.
Jim Fiorello has collected a wide varity of designs, including the Bell kit line. The models range in size from 20" wingspan to 30" W.S. Prices start at $12.00 up to about $30.00 per kit.
A few of the planes offered, wingspan and price;
Rearwin Speedster 24" $12.00
Rearwin Speedster 30" $20.00
Lambert Monocoupe 30" $20.00
Fairchild 24 30" $20.00
Heinkel He-112 20" $18.00
Kawasaki Hein 24" $20.00
Seversky Fighter 22" $15.00
Douglas Y10-43 24" $18.00
Stormovik IL-2 24" $20.00
Albatross D-Va 24" $17.00
H-1 Racer 20" $29.95
And many more unusual designs. With the availability of sub-micro servos, RX's and tiny motors it wouldn't be too difficult to convert these to indoor or (calm weather) outdoor flyers.

For you small-scale builders, here's an first-hand update. I ordered the Corben Super Ace 23" W.S. kit and the complete plans catalog from Golden Age Reproductions, and they just arrived.
The kit came first, very well-packaged in a sturdy double carton. It's a beauty, printed (not cut) sheets and strip stock, all fine grade balsa. Full size plans, genuine Esaki tissue (the old Free Flighters will recognize this name!), plastic prop and rubber motor, nose bearing and hook.
I hope to modify this to micro-R/C with a 25 watt ELE C10 2900Kv outrunner from BPHobbies.
But the catalog!! This will nearly bring tears to the eyes of any fan of the 1920's, 30's and pre-war aircraft. Military, Civilian, Racers, Prototypes and unusual types. 80- 8" x 10" pages with (usually) two scaled-down reproductions per page. A price guide for the full-size plans is included, most are $3.75 to $4.75 each. you could learn how to design a stick model just by reading this catalog!
Jim included a nice note with the list and price update. The plans catalog is $19.00 including shipping, U.S.A., Canada and Mexico. Well worth it, as a reference and a piece of aviation history. Don't know where I got the $3.00 price on the earlier post, the paper is worth more than that.
Check out Golden Age Reproductions, great products!
