I just found it for 179.99!! Not bad!! But, I won't be getting one, I already own a DX6 and a JR 8103. I'll upgrade in a year or two. That leaves more money for more Planes and Heils'!!

Another 6 weeks, says one non-LHS I talked to. They have their hands on a few (with the Blade 6) and say that it is a little disappointing. "Feels cheap." Now, they are in the business of selling radios, and the more expensive the better. But they also want to please their customers.
I've had one on order since Oct, but I think I am going to bail and go for the DX7. The JR X9303 will have to wait until I build that 4-engine, tactical nuke-releasing, retract-equipped, B-whatever I saw on the web...Sigh.

Powerlines,
The DX6i can be run off 4 cells instead of 8 because it only use ~5 volts to transmit. The DX7 also only uses ~5 volts to transmit, but uses a internal power transformer to drop it down to 5 volts. 2.4ghz dosn't need as much power to transmit as 72mhz did.
Oh I got to hold and play with a DX6i for a while. WOW it's light, it's comfortable to hold for people who use thumbs. If you use the pintch technique it would get cramped. (i can switch between both methods without problem but prefer thumbs).

I like the AA's too. I have some Nimh rechargeables and a fast charger.
Also carry a new set of alkalines in my flight bag for backup at the field.
Even if I forgot to charge my TX, I would always still be up and flying.
