Hello I was at my LHS and was able to get my DX6I yesterday. They told me that they got them in on Friday so I believe I was the first person to get one. However, from the box it comes standard like in the Blade 400 box with 4 AA batteries. But you have the option of using 1.2A batteries instead. It also has the DC charger for the 1.2A batteries if you decide to use them.
It has a very distinctive feeling when holding it.

Hmm, got mine also yesterday and comes with the AA's - in the manual it talks about that the one's with AA goes with RTF - shame Specktrum didn't advise everyone that all of them will be with AA's???

I'm fairly confident that the only difference between the blade 400 version and the separate version will be that the separate comes with the wall charger. I can't see Spektrum making two 99% the same controllers and only differing them by the type of batteries they use.
Having said that, so far I love mine (B400) I've got my B400, CX2, Cessna 170, Cox Zero, and my Cessna Skymaster programed into it.
My only complaints are:
Screen on bottom blocked by neckstrap
Beeps are not loud enough to hear when flying.
As for batteries, I've been using "Sanyo Eneloop" Hybrid rechargeable which IMNSHO are better than using a standard pack because they hold there charge when not in use (up to a year). They can also be charged right in the controller if you've got the wall charger.
