Hi everyone,
Here's my funjet ...

and my current setup is :
- TR 35-36B 1300kv Brushless Outrunner (Eq:2814)
- ESC 45A Scorpion (this ESC sucks)
- 8X6 CAM PROP
- Kong Power 3S 2200 25C
With the wattmeter, I got 20A and 280W.
I want something faster. really faster... so I can impress my friends at the local club. Some of them are running 5S and 3W motors... I presume they've been around 150kmh ... but with a setup that weights a LOT.
I have bunch of lipos 3S 2200 25C (I use them in my rc heli 450). I can also buy some cheap Lipos @ hobbycity. I also have a Zippy-R 2500mAh 4S
Just wondering if someone could advise me a nice setup. I searched a LOT on Internet, forums, but I prefer to get information from here. I had always clear and nice answer in the past.
I've seen thoses setups:
SETUP 1
motor : Feigao 2847 2467kv : 29$
prop : Master airscrew 5.5x4.5
prop adapter : 3.17mm hobbycity prop adapter
esc : turnigy PLUSH 60A : 43$
lipo : Zippy-R 2500mAh 4S
All up weight : 790g
Static peak amp draw : 50A - 650W
Static max RPM : 28000 RPM
Theoretic airspeed : 192 km/h
=> Get's REALLY hot.
SETUP 2
Warp 4 3 turn
6x4 Prop
3 cell Lithium Polymer pack
=> is 189.7 Kilometers per hour.
=> Quite nice !
SETUP 3
HERC 3W or 4W setups.
SETUP 4 ... dunno...
At this moment, I'm close to paypal... but I'm completely stuck in my choice.
Any help is MUCH appreciated.
Huge thanks,
Cédric

Cédric,
<O:p</O:pI gave you a reply in the other post.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
If you want to use your smaller 3S packs, you can run two of them in parallel and that will retain 3S. They will become 3S-4400 25C with double amp rating.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Parallel connection will be connecting positive to positive, negative to negative. You can make a parallel adapter or buy one for $8.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXNKY8&P=ML
You can still go over 180 KPH on 3S with the 3S props I mentioned.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Make sure the rest of the plane is up to the task.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Remember you can gradually prop up when the system is strong.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
If you keep upgrading one cheap motor after another and same with ESC, then think how much more money will you spend in the long run besides flying slower all along.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
You can prop for 40A, then 50A, 60A, 70A...at only cost of $3 for a prop.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
In USA you can get the motor/ESC combo for $215.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Have fun,<O:p</O:p

okayplayer,
I got your PM.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
Since you are now looking at the ARC motor, consider the Medusa 28-40-2200 or 28-40-2500 original or new V2.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
They are much better than the ARC 2150KV motor due to Medusa's lower resistance value.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
http://www.medusaproducts.com/motors/028-V2.htm $79 has cooling vents and higher efficiency.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
http://www.medusaproducts.com/motors/028.htm $70<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
My vote: 28-40-2500 V2.
Have fun,

Hey now,
At our field we have a guy running a ARC 2837-2.5, 5.2-5.2 cam prop, 2200-3sTPX cells and a Tbird 54 ESC. On the radar gun he's getting 90+mph. Maybe not super screaming, but plenty fast for an under two hundred dollar drive system.
Mine's been clocked at 97+mph, but prolly doesn't count as I chopped it into a ducted fan drive. Mega 1615-2, CC Phoenix 60 ESC, 2200-3s TPX paralled into 4400-3s-2p through a WeMoTec minifan.
I'm also eating close to twice the amps my friend is...
