I'm thinking about getting a 35/36 amp esc for my Alfa F-86 Sabre that I recently purchased... Realistically, what's the difference between the phoenix and thunderbird lines, besides the price? Will one be better than the other for ducted fan use?
Thanks, Mike

Also, the PHOENIX has seven programable options vs. two for the THUNDERBIRD. For beginners the added options aren't a "must have" but can be useful in more advanced applications. Castle is now advertising the PHOENIX to handle 5 lipo cells (19.2v max) without the BEC and 3 cells (12.6v max) with BEC.

Many differences in programmable options. Also more volts on Phoenix line....
With the TB you can set:
Brake
Motor Direction
Battery type (NiMh or LiPoly)
With Phoenix you can set:
Brake
Motor direction
Battery type
Low Voltage cutoff (right to the 1/10 of a volt)
Current Limiting
Throttle points
Motor Timing
Hard or soft cutoff
Motor startup settings
Governor modes for Heli's
