Hello I have the 3DHS Extra 300 SHP 47'. I am wanting to find a cheaper motor and esc that will work good with this plane. I was wondering what Turnigy motor would be good for this plane. Will the turnigy motor work fine with the stock motor blind nuts?
Here is what I already have for this plane.
-Rhino 2150 3cell 20c batts
-4 HXT900 servos
-APC 13x6.5 and 12x6
-Motor?
-ESC?

the HXT 900 are plastic gears, that won't work. Have to go with MG's (metal gear)

Get the Omega 103 that 3dhs sales. Cheaper than most other options and perfect for the plane.

And I agree with Dan...DONT use the hxt900 servos. A good MG servo option thats fairly reasonable in price is the Bluebird 373MG.

yeah I +1 on the servos, altho maybe not metal gear but at least HS-65Hb's MG's be best. I have the 42 inch slick and love it i have Hbs in wing MG on tail flys great.

motor, um my father has that same plane and has a way to big of motor in his but flys heck out of it the scorpion 3026.

do you want 3d hovering out of it or just good sports flying?

as far as ESC, get you a Suppo from http://lightflightrc.com/ whatever motor you end up going with get one for that size or just get the 70 amp $29.95 we have about 3-4 and love them but you need to run it with a seprate bec. we use http://www.dimensionengineering.com/SportBEC.htm sport bec ones they work great

+1 on the OMEGA103G-1030 motor. It's not much more than the Turnigy, and you get the 3DHS support and customer service with it.

Never Enough

I have the 47" Velox and run the Turnigy SK 35-48 900. Tons of power and has taken a beating. Can't beat it for $25.
