Okay thought this would be a good post.
How long have you been flying and what year did you start. If you would rather not tell the year as some might figure out your age thats ok just post how many years. Also what kinda flying you start with.
I have been flying for 16 years,I started flying in 1989 when I was 9 years old.
Flew glow and electric gliders off and on to start with. We quit flying for about 3 years and just got back into June 2004.
Taught myself how to 3D in 4 months ,now I cant get enough

Been flying since august 2002. Now I’ve got just under 160 hours of flight, on just about anything that has wings. Became 3D fan about 9 months ago. When I’m not putting lots of cash at risk with low altitude manoeuvres I enjoy slope soaring.

I started flying in 1938, with rubber powered free flights, then to control line in the 50's, with my first free flight RC assisted in 1952, then to digital RC in 1970. Have been active off and on ever since. Am 80 yrs old, and still enjoy many hours per week of designing, building, and flying. Have three sons who are also into RC all phases. I fly ONLY electrics anymore; have quite a few, all sizes from Senior Kadet to 8 ounce waco bipe. Bob Constance

April 2003 with a firebird II, which was put away after 2 months or so. The next year, I got a Zagi 400x rft for 150 shipped to my door off eBay.
I've been hooked on wings eversince, but do have a slowstick for AP.

I've been flying since June 2002. I have managed to accumulate 12 electrics all are RTF, wore out 3 (read that as crashed) have sold 3 that I didn't like. It doesn't take long to get addicted.

I been in model airplanes since I was a young boy. Early 50's played with free flight, then to u-control. Finally in the late 60's went to analog r/c and then over to digital r/c. Was out of it for a few years and am now back since 2004. The picture on my avatar is a 60 powered Aeromaster. Used Kraft 7 channel radio, Kraft 61 motor and could knife edge across the runway with it. She would actually climb with that motor in a knife edge. I think the greatest thing for this hobby is the electric power that we have now. I know we lost many a flying field because of noise. It is great to be back at it again.

I started flying in the early seventies as a young boy chasing hand launch models around both indoors and out, competed in my first Australian Nationals in '74 won second in indoor junior HLG I think I have been addicted eversince, To the point I think there should be an AA for Aeromodellers anonymous, You know the drill " ER Hi, My name is Alexis and I'm a aeroholic, blah blah, I just can't walk past anewse agent with out just popping in to see if the latest magazines have hit the shelves and then theres the shops, those darn Hobby shops, i call in just for a quick sniff of the balsa rack and hours later I'm still gassbagging at the counter, I need help!!
Woops got a little sidtracked there, back to the question, I started flying radio around '77 with a Soar birdy and fell in love with sailplanes mainly for the next twenty years, up to the point that I was one of the principle organisers of the Scale soaring rally held at Bordertown here in South Australia for a number of years( very successfull event with 200 plus scale sailplanes at the events peak in 2000).
Around 2002 I started getting into electrics and helicopters and both of these combined aswell, i fly mainly smallish sport aerobatic models at the moment with a few GWS models and a few scratch built projects inbetween teaching my son to fly and build moddels also.
So there you go my aeromodelling history in brief,I think i could go on for hours about all the things I love about aeromodelling but I'll just assume that because you guys are here on this list that you share the same thoughts.
keep em flying

P.S. of course I can blame my Father for my affliction he has been a modeller himself for the last 55 years.
