Man... I need my dope, man, Er, uh NITRATE Dope!
It's been said that if a brontosaurus was injured on his tail it might take several minutes for the beast to feel pain sent to its brain. Well I walked into my Local Hobby USA today and there was no Aerogloss clear dope, which I use on my stick and tissue micro and park flyer planes. The Hobby USA guy muttered that they cannot get it anymore. I searched the Internet and found that the stuff has been discontinued since 2012 or 2013. It was apparently part of the collateral damage When Rustoleum took over Testors; guess it took this long to sell off the back stock.
I can buy Sig dope at the big boy RC shop here, have never used it, I like to buy smaller fresher quantities. I don't like the can storage... Clumsy to get into and close. Sigh. I remember Testors dope and Comet print wood kits in the local drug store when I was a boy...
Your thoughts and suggestions?

I went to buy some BalsaLoc today and of course I was informed that it is no longer available. I said why? Because Solarfilm made it and they no longer make anything.
So what was my alternative?
An 8 oz tin of Stix-It from SIG. at a cost of Au$32 !!!
Smells just like dope too. I will be trying it out in the next few days.
Still smarting at the price...

I believe various other Film Companies did a Balsaloc equivalent ? Never used it myself but as to Dope .... Oh YEHH !!
Have memories of being in the 'doghouse' for stinking out the home with the stuff !! Eventually I had to build a shed workshop to avoid the wrath of 'her indoors' ...

Alas, I'm beginning to see more and more of this every time I go looking for supplies. "Sorry, that's no longer available. Sorry, we have some on order, but we have no idea if or when it will come in." :-(
