Aero Ace Throttle spring mod
#1

I am not suggesting that anyone do this... But here is how I removed the AHAA throttle spring.
1. I unscrewed (counter-clockwise) the antenna and removed it from the case.
2. I removed the battery door and batteries.
3. I removed the seven screws from the case. Circled in red in this picture.

4. I cut the FCC label on the top of the case, following the split in the case.

5. I pulled the case apart. The charging wire needs to be free to pull with the case back.

6. I removed the screw holding the throttle stick.

7. I removed the throttle spring. I replaced the throttle screw leaving the spring off.

8. I put the case back together by reversing the order from 5 to 1. I had to pull the charging cord back into it's storage area.

hi
very nice tutorial on the removing the throttle spring rahtware
removing the throttle spring makes it easier to control the ahaa. once you find a good throttle setting you can just leave it there and fly. ive done it to all 12 of mine. in fact once my ahaa is in flight i can use only one hand to control plane. i highly reccomend it.
clear skies and good flying.

With the spring removed you can set the throttle and it stays there until you move it again. This is the way a "real" RC transmitter works, and those of us who already fly RC find the "sprung" throttle annoying. Besides, as the AHAA gains or looses alititude by throttle setting it is just easier to "set it and forget it". (I've been watching way too much late-night TV!)
