You know it would be cool to have 2 events a year at the airport! It would sure make it easy to talk more people into helping out! The city and county would HAVE to be impressed!

Maybe we should move WOOF to Holdenville.
It is in the middle of Oklahoma.
I don't think I am going to try and put together anything anymore...it's too much work .

Well I will be there by 10 am. But I am not going to be in a hurry to leave! I will have my SmoothE and Tigermoth and my charger...
If we can try and have everyone there by noon that would be great. But like I said. I will be in no hurry to leave. And if the people coming bring a plane they can fly too. It would be a great chance to get to know the site.

There is an amazing number of things to do when getting on of these things going!
But I think it will be worth while if it goes off well.

what about static or show planes?

I don't mean planes that are not capable of flight like plastic models. I mean rc models that are detailed or otherwise show worthy.
Kind of a purdy plane contest? Possible one that spectators vote on.

Something like best sport plane. Best scale model and best military.

Mine just look rough from rough use, plus most are blucor. I don't know for sure if I'll be able to make it to the meeting Saturday or not Wes, but I'm going to try.

Oh 1987 I spoke with Dave over at Action Hobbies this morning he said he will be in Fort Worth the weekend of the flyin or he would come down. don't know if he's going to be able to come up with anything for prizes said he sent a lot of stuff out to heatwave in the heartland.
I told him to hold anything in case we had another event next year. He also said events earlier in the year have the best chance to get donations. Though I have to say again you've done an awesome job.

Pretty is as pretty does right? I know a lot of models are better flying then looking. But I want to not overlook a chance to feature some models if there are enough so that it makes having a category for them.

Ok we have two banners being doanted. Wal Mart in Holdenville is donating one that is 2'x6' made from 36lb paper.

A Tshirt shop in Holdenville is donating a banner made from vinyl. He is also willing to give a break on Tee Shirts.

SO I need to have an idea of the number of shirts. How many REALLY will buy them? Of course the more we buy the better the price!

One reason (besides when the idea came to me!) for having it in the fall is temps. It is cooler then here.

If this goes well at all I do want to make this a yearly event. Good for the area for increased business. And gives the locals something to do.

It also give us in this part of the country an event to look forward to and build on.

And of course it is a chance to make a good impression ( and friends) for the hobby!

Contest director needed!

I need to find someone willing to be an over all contest director.
He will be in charge of the flying events. And will coordinate with the people running the individual events.

This is my first attempt at putting something like this on. So someone who can handle this part ( experience a BIG plus!) for me would be a HUGE help!

I will keep a list of people from both sites. Hopefully we can get enough to make the price reasonable.

Wes, or Jim, can you post a map, on how to get to the Holdenville airport?
If you've already posted one, I missed it. Just direct me to the post. It might be a good idea to add it to the calendar too.
Thanks Brett.

Wes, put me down for a T-shirt.

Also what time do you plan to start the planning meeting on Saturday. I know you mentioned 12:00, but are we going to have it at a diner.

You also mentioned 10:00. I can do either.

I would like to have it at 10:00 am. I had planned to have it at the airport. No food there. But we can do a walk around and I think it will help with planning.

Sure you can bring anything! LOL Anything you want!
I had not thought of food or drink. But no reason we could not do something along those lines.
All joking aside a note pad would be a good idea. I will bring my laptop. No internet service there. But I can keep notes in it.

Are there enough chairs in the terminal building? If not I have several of the folding camp chairs.
