Parkzone P51 into eflite P47 Thunderbolt?

Hi guys, a friend crashed his Parkzone P51 into the point of no return and gave me the radio and receiver etc. Its the base equipment - not the ZX10 in the spitfire. Could I use this radio in the eflite P47 thunderbolt with the stock provided motor? I'm just wondering if the draw on the receiver/esc is going to be too much. I believe the eflite states a 20amp esc is needed. I've heard the Parkzone is rated at 10-15amps max? But it seems like the same setup as the Parkzone models overall.
This would be my third foamie in the hangar, and I know I need to suck it up and buy a real radio, but I can't sneak the funds past the wife right now. Can I pull this off with the Parkzone stock stuff? I'm pretty much a noob with the electronics since I normally fly gas planes.
Also, Parkzone has more wires to servo then 3 as I've normally seen. Can I get a Y harness for these servos somewhere?

The P-51 stuff is similar to the supercub electronics. The 5 wires servos are not compatible with normal 3 wire. Not sure if there is a ready-made harness out there.
The receiver is not very good either, you can expect some random glitching (all my cub electronics have this issue). The brushed motor is ok but I dont recommend putting it into a p-47. That bird really needs a nice 450 or 480 motor to make it fly like she was meant to.

I would not put the park zone electrics in any thing more than a slow stick. The servos are not comparable with anything else on the market. I have never put one on an amp meter but I'm sure that its less than 15 amp max. You will need more channels, servos, and a higher rated speed control for the P47. The P47 is a great aircraft, but really needs a quality radio. It may be time to take the plunge and buy a DX-6 or DX-7. The feel of a digital radio will make you never want to touch park zone radios again.

Dang...well don't sugar coat it guys:p.
I recently purchased the E-Flit P-47 new in the box from a fellow watthead. It should be here next week sometime and I plan on using the Park 450. Does this sound good to you guys?
Sorry cafeoo, I don't mean to hijack your thread friend. These guys are right though, you don't want to go with the electronics for the P-47...even if you could get it to work, it wouldn't perform too well I wouldn't think. Good luck to you friend.

Guys, I agree with you. I run most planes with my 8 channel Futaba heli radio. But I was just trying to go cheap on servos and a new RX. I sucked it up and I'm running the plane with the Futaba and new servos and it flys great. Even though they are similar, I think the P47 puts the Parkzone warbirds to shame.

Thanks Tom. Now that 10x7 APC prop...is that "thin electric" or "slow flyer" type? Also, I was reading about a crash where a fellow watthead had crashed her on the maiden flight. Looked like a possible torque roll. Any advice you could give would be great friend. Do you launch her with 3/4 throttle or WOT? Thanks.

I replied to this over in the E-Flite P-47 thread so we can stay on it specifically. It's in post #350.
